And of course, the only classes Aria and I have together are choir and lunch. Perfect. Just perfect.
"But Principal Sanders, there has to be some way we can have more classes together. Like a schedule change? Please sir."
"I'm sorry girls, we don't do schedule changes. If we let one student we have to let the rest slide. No exceptions."
I sighed. "Thanks anyway Principal Sanders." We walked out into the hallway and it was flooded with kids. A kid a short ways away was getting wedgied, where another group of girls scoffed at every other girl that walked past them. And another group or boys, 'jocks' I'm guessing, comparing muscle sizes like complete neanderthals. Typical high school.
I look at my schedule and see I have chemistry, while Aria has world history. Thank God we only have to suffer 3 weeks until we go on summer vacation. I had to look for room 47c in the junior wing. I tried to get somebodies attention, but they either strolled along like I didn't exist or ran right into me, then walked away like I didn't exist. Then that girl from the bus approached me with a group of girls behind her. It was like this was a scene from Mean Girls.
"Well, are you lost Rosie?" The girls behind her smirked.
"Yeah, I think she is Courtney. What do we do?" A voice from the group shot out and everybody in the hallway stopped dead and circled around us. Where was Aria when I needed her.
"Girls, do you see what I see? She's wearing a necklace for that stupid little boyband, what was it One Inspection or something?" Nobody dared make a noise in the crowd, but the posse all made faint giggling noises then turned their attention back to Courtney.
"I just want to get to class. I don't want any trouble." I pressed my books against my chest so the necklace was hidden. I tried making my way out of the mob, but Courtney shoved me back to where I was standing.
"Listen, I may not like the band or whatever, but they're really hot, so don't go getting your granny panties in a twist, okay muffin? Now stay out of my way. Remember? You don't want a living hell do you?" She waved her hand and just like that the hallway was cleared. The bell just rang and I had to run to my next class.
After stopping into numerous different rooms the whole morning, I managed to avoid Courtney and not get in trouble for being late, since I'm new. It was finally lunch, thank God. I wonder what kind of day Aria was having.
"Jo! Wait up!" Aria came up to me in the lunch line and smiled at me.
"How was your morning? I bet it wasn't nearly as horrible as mine. I walked into the wrong geometry class an-"
"Courtney, she uh came up to me in the hall. Had me circled in a group of people, and made some nasty comments about One Direction, and how I was going to be in a living hell if I didn't stay out of her way. I'm just glad she hasn't found out about our moms yet." I whispered it low enough for just her to hear.
"Jo, you cant let girls like that get you down, just remember, Liam loves you. Okay?" She always knew what to say when I was upset. Every time I was feeling sad about bullying or something, I would turn to One Direction. I loved all 5, but I really had a sweet spot for Liam. One time he was doing a twit cam, I was chatting and not expecting him to see, and all of a sudden, I hear him say, "I love you so much Josie Neilson from New Jersey." Ever since, Aria always reminded me of it.
"Yeah, sure, even though he has no idea I even exist.."
"Yes he does, remember the twit cam?" We got our lunch trays and made our way to a table, but every table was taken. We passed about 20 different tables until we gave up.
"Well, I guess it's another year in the library Jo."
