In The Streets of Gaza

I wrote this when I was in sixth grade- and that was over five years ago. Now I'm grown up, I understand things better and many things have changed, but the situation in Palestine hasn't changed and I am still unable to understand why won't anyone take action to stop such atrocities.

"As I walk through the streets of Gaza

I hear thousands crying,

Without anyone to help them

They're left there dying.

Without any water or clothes

food or shelter,

Children cry to death

But people of the world think it doesn't matter.

As I think

I am reminded of Anne Frank and Zlata,

In my head

I hear children screaming Mama and Papa.

In the city of Gaza

Hundreds are left homeless,

In the streets of Gaza

Thousands are left in the coldness.

So come on people

Let's do something for our brothers,

But I know

You won't bother!

For I am one of those children

In the streets of Gaza,

Waiting for days

For someone to come help me and Mama."
