After a few hours of watching nothing but Judge Judy and finishing Matt's homework, it was time to go.  I took the piece of paper with Rae's address scribbled onto it, along with my mobile. Before I left, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked... normal.  Hair straighter, mascara and a nice dress doesn't work any wonders.  It was just me in a red pinafore.  Boring and short me.

"I'm going mum!" I called, while closing the door.

It was 6pm, hardly party-time, but the party started in 10 minutes, meaning I would be late. Then again, I'm always late. I walked down a few roads, but it soon came to me that I was lost. Everything looked so different when it was dark. I knew the way during day time, but at night was a different matter.

After about half an hour, I finally made it to Rae's house. I was glad to be there, because my feet ached.

"Christina! You look amazing!" She yelled, making me blush.

"Err... you look good yourself... thanks," I mumbled. I hated it when people complimented me; I never knew what to say.

Rae was stunning, she looked like a model. She wore a bright green cocktail dress, with matching heels. Her eyes really stood out, like little emeralds.  She had curled her brown hair in a way that looked natural . Her curves were in the right places, and only now, I realised how slim she really was.  There was no way I'd get to talk to her tonight; she'll be swamped by guys.

I walked in, kicking an unfamiliar object out of the way. Looking at the corridor's floor, there was no point in trying not to step on anything.

"Yeah, I'll clean that up later," Rae grinned, as if on cue.

She dragged me into the crowded living room, before being drowned by players, wanting to use her and break her heart. I was worried about her. Rae has a firm head on her shoulders, you don't need to worry, I reminded myself.

I swerved around dancing couples, and landed on the couch. I sat there for a few minutes, but became bored, so stood up and walked away. When I reached the door into the kitchen, I turned around and became aware that my space had already been occupied by someone.  I pushed the door open and trudged in. By the counter, I saw a blonde bimbo forcing herself down a guy's throat.  What a whore. People have no self-respect. I marched passed the 'couple' and helped myself to the Crisps in the bowl. I took two or three and began to nibble at them.  I sucked on the crisp, absorbing the salty flavour. I escorted myself out of the room, silently, and then walked back to the corridor. I wanted to explore the house, to find every crack in the wall, every scratch on the floor.  It was a childish idea, but at the time, it didn't bother me. I knew that it was wrong, and stupid, but that was irrelevant.

I found the way into the office. It was quite a small room, the walls lined with book cases, full to the brim. In front of the window, opposite the door was a desk. There were several pictures and knick-knacks on it. I picked up a photograph of a baby. It had the same green eyes as Rae. Aww! So cute! I grinned at myself, before putting the picture back to its original spot. I observed the desk, looking at all of the memorabilia and papers. I turned to the book case, picking books, flicking through pages and putting them back. I then decided to go into a different room.  As I went upstairs, I bumped into someone.

"You're good at this," a familiar voice chuckled.

I looked up. Shit Shit Shit! It was Matt.

"Sorry," I said, my voice trembling, scared that he would hit me.

"What are you doing, going upstairs? There's nothing to do. Come with me." Matt replied. He grabbed my arm and took me downstairs.

There goes my exploration, I thought. I "followed" Matt into the living room. Before we walked in, he released his hand from my wrist. My wrist suddenly felt cold. The warm feeling went to my hand that Matt was holding. I looked into his blue eyes, mesmerised. He chuckled and smiled at me.
