When Indy woke again he was in a hospital bed. He looked around and realized he was back in the castle's hospital wing. The room was empty except for him. He was stiff all over and a groan slipped from his lips as he moved around on the bed. Gauze and bandages covered most of his body. His left leg was in a heavy cast and he could see numerous well-wishers had signed it. Pictures of hearts, dragons, angels, and xo's covered the long white cast.

"Awake now honey? Just lie back and relax." A tall woman with long red hair in a nurse's gown had appeared at his side out of thin air. "You aren't well enough to get out of bed just yet young man."

"Who are you?" Indy asked the older woman. He didn't remember ever seeing her in the castle before. Maybe he had hit his head harder then he thought.

"Don't worry about me right now, you have some other friends waiting patiently outside. They have been waiting for you quite a while now. I'll go get them."

The nurse or doctor swept from the room and moments later, his friends came bursting into the room.

"You're ok!" Jon yelled as he came running over.

Joslyn ran to his other side, silent except for tears streaming down her face. A worried smile creased her face.

"I'm a little sore but I think I will live," Indy said as he smiled up at his friends. He reached up to touch Joslyn's long blonde hair. He could feel the frost sticking to his fingers as he dropped his hand back to the bed.

"Your hair," he said.

Indy reached up again to brush Joslyn's frosted hair away from her face. Her pale skin was covered in frost...

"It came back when she went through the aurora to bring you back," Jon said.

"You did that for me?" Indy asked.

Joslyn nodded. "Of Couse I did, I was the one who ate the apple after all. It worked Indy. It really worked. I searched outside the aurora for you for almost half the night. We weren't even sure if you were still in one piece or if the crash had shattered your... statue," she held up a hand to her icy hair. "But this didn't happen then. It just started coming back yesterday. Your dad thinks the effects of the apple are only temporary."

"How long have I been out?" Indy asked worried about what he had missed.

His friends looked at each other and then back to him.

"You've been unconscious for almost two weeks Indy," Jon said.

"Two weeks? What about James? Did I kill him? What about the Chinese soldiers on the beach?" Indy asked in a rush.

Jon held up both hands. "Slow down dude. We aren't exactly sure what happened down there the cameras were out. We can only guess."

Jon pulled a backpack off his shoulder and rummaged through it. He pulled out a gold apple core, a large chunk of flattened metal and two pieces of black crystal.
