Rose looked in the mirror. She was paler than usual, the freckles across her nose prominent. She hated those freckles, but for some reason Scorp loved them. Not that she cared at the moment, because her world had just been tipped upside down and sideways.
Something had happened that Rose hadn’t expected, and she’d never dealt very well with that. This was huge though, bigger than anything she’d ever had to deal with. A life would be in her hands, depending on her; she’d never planned on it happening so soon-and Rose wasn’t a planner, but even this gave her a little shock.
She, Rose Weasley, was pregnant.
With Scorpius Malfoy’s baby.
She carried the heir of Malfoy inside of her, and she was so far from ready it wasn’t even funny.
“Red?”
Scorpius’ voice petrified Rose, and she froze. She couldn’t tell him, she was to scared; he was at the height of his career and happy, she couldn’t ruin their life with a baby.
Letting out a shaky breathe, Rose stared herself down in the mirror. She had to tell him, it’s what a wife would do. “Coming,” she said weakly and turned to the door-but looked back once to see if there was any sign the heir of Malfoy was slowly growing inside her.
And that scared Rose more than anything.
