Chapter  15

“Matt?”
“Hey Vi, can I come in?”
“Yeah” I said stepping aside. He walked in and entered the living room.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“I just wanted to apologize to you”
“Aw, Matt, It’s okay. Josh and I worked everything out”
“I know but still”
I gave him a hug. Matt hugged me back slowly.
“We’re still friends right?” I asked
“Yeah”
“Good”
“I got to go”
“Okay” I said as I followed him to the door and waved good bye.

Matt’s Point Of View

I didn’t want to stay too long with Violet.
I still don’t trust myself with her.
When she hugged me, I just wanted to kiss her and tell her how much I care and love her.
Love her?
I don’t love Violet…Do I?
When did this happen?
I don’t know when, all I know is…
I love her.

Violet’s Point Of View
I ordered pizza and waited for Josh to come home.
He texted me that he would be here soon.
The front door opened and Josh walked in.
He smiled at me and came into the living room.
“Hey,” he said giving me a quick kiss.
“Hey, how did it go?”
“Good, but I’m not sure if I want to go there, though,”
I nodded my head. “Hungry?” I asked him.
“Yeah”
I got up to get Josh a slice of pizza.
****
The next day at school everyone stared at Josh and me again.
They did the same thing on yesterday too.
Cloey, Maya and Lucy gave us the look of death every time they saw us.
The rest of the gang was just happy that we were back together.
At lunch, Josh wanted me to play ‘our song’ for everyone.
We walked down to the music room together, so I could play it on the piano.
The song made me think of my grandmother, but instead of crying, I smiled. Knowing that I will have a little bit of my grandmother left.
After school we all made plans to hang out at the mall.
*****
“Happy Birthday Violet!”
I jumped up to see my parents and Josh in front of me.
I smiled. “Thanks”
“Here,” my mom said giving me a small box. “It’s from all of us,”
I smiled at then as I opened the box.
It was a necklace with a small locket on it.
It was my grandmother’s.
I remember her wearing it, she never took it off.
I opened the locket and found a picture of me and her inside.
I didn’t realize I was crying until my dad whopped away a tear.
“Thanks guys, I love it”
“No problem, go get dressed,”
I got out of bed and quickly changed. I put on the necklace and walked downstairs.
My mom made my favorite breakfast. Banana nut pancakes.

****
At school Alex and Mike made sure to give me sixteen birthday punches each.
There was no sports today, because of the construction on the fields.
Demi, Susan and my mom took me – forced me- to the mall.
They bought me a new dress and gave me a make over against my will.
Finally, they took me home. I was told to wear the dress they bought me.
I opened the door.
