Hi there! My name is Athena. I’m a 10 year old Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred crossbreed mare (adult female horse). I don’t remember much about my horse mother, since I was only a year old when my human mother came to take me home. Living with her and her family has been wonderful! She knows how to take care of me, what to feed me and how much, when I need medicine, and all the things that I need to stay healthy. However, I know that other horses aren’t as lucky as me, not necessarily because their owners don’t have enough money to care for them, but because they don’t have enough knowledge. So I’d like to take the opportunity to pass on a little education, and help teach you how easy it really can be to have a backyard horse.
