*Author's Note* Hey guys, This is the chapter that basically starts to change Stephanie and some things happen in it that I'm not happy with but I don't want to change it too much because of the sentimental value it has to me, so even if its bad I'm just gonna leave it as it is.

Hope you enjoy it :)

A few days pasted and Jacob still hadn’t come out of the hospital, which was understandable since he had four broken ribs, another two fractured and his body was entirely covered in bruises so he could barely stand. He had told me how much his muscles hurt to move them and even just to try and adjust his sitting position caused him a lot of pain.

“Hey how are you feeling today?” I asked walking in and kissing him on the forehead, he smiled up at me warmly and it made my heart flutter, which was a usual thing now.

“Better than I was yesterday that’s for sure. The doctor said that I can go out tomorrow but I can’t go to school for a couple of days.” Jacob said as I sat on the end of his bed, he wiggled his toes at me and they tickled my hip, I had to hold back a laugh so I didn’t wake his roommate. I had never seen him but I knew he was there behind the pale white curtain.

“That’s great, but how am I going to survive without you at school?” I asked sarcastically looking around the room as if the answer was hiding in there.

“Easy, you won’t, you’ll end up in here from insufficient doses of me.” He joked back and patted the spot on the bed next to him, I crawled next to him and curled up beside him, his arm wrapped around me and he snuggled his face in the crook of my neck; it tickled but I let him do it anyway.

We sat there like that for a long time, I may have fallen asleep but I couldn’t quiet remember, I saw the sun disappear and looked at my watch. It was six-forty-five and I had to be home by seven.

“Oh, I have to go. But Cassidy will be in to see you later.” I told him getting up, he kept a hold of my wrists and pleaded with his eyes for me to stay. I laughed at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, making him smile again and his eyes light up. They looked like they had lit up the entire room as well, everything suddenly seemed so much brighter.

“Ok, I’ll see you later.” Jacob said lightly waving as I went towards the door of his room.

“I promise you will.” I said waving back before the door shut and I went down the hall and out of the hospital to my mum’s new black Camaro and made a bee-line for home.

When I got home I pulled out my phone and dialled Cassidy’s number again, I had called her more often in the past few days than I called my grandmother in a year.

“Hey Cassidy, I told Jacob that you would be in to see him after school.” I told her after she answered the phone on the fourth ring.

“Thanks, I’ll tell him that you will be in to see him tomorrow too.” Cassidy replied, I could practically hear the smile in her voice through the phone.

“Ok thanks.” I replied smiling too before we both said goodbye and hung up. I was smiling when I went into my house and the smile didn’t leave until I was fast asleep in my bed late that night.

When I went to see Jacob again the next day, Billy and Zack swarmed to my house and asked to come with me, they missed their best friend and they went as far as begging me even though I was going to let them come anyway. They had followed Jacob’s lead and ditched their cheerleading clothes for the normal school uniform and they usually hung around me at school like bodyguards, we had become pretty good friends over the last few days.
