THREE

-Abigail-

When I got home that night, I was completely shocked and confused. This had to relate to the new kid. He had disappeared after the girl's bathroom flooded.

Chaos had taken over. There was nothing like it. Why had this happened to the school? The rest of the day, we had to walk around in water. The principle had been furious. But I was the only one who seemed to realize that the new kid had disappeared. And to be more specific... so had Bobby.

I was soaked. My feet were freezing, and I had to walk home. After walking about three miles to get home, I peeled off my shoes outside of my house, and let them stay on the porch to dry in the morning sun tomorrow. It was a very long walk, but I had been doing it since second grade.

When I walked in, I automatically saw my dad's girlfriend Danielle. She was looking at the CD's next to the small TV in the living room. Danielle seemed to be always here. She was way too perky and pretty for my taste. She was nice and all, but it was hard to get to know her. She was only twenty eight. My dad was thirty nine. It was scary.

She saw me, and smiled. I didn't smile back. I was in no mood. She noticed, and looked back at the CD's, nervous. Even though she was ridiculously close to my age, she didn't know how to handle me. That's when I saw her hand on her stomach.

My face flushed, and I remembered the news last week. My dad was getting married, and having another child. I hated it, but of course my dad didn't care. He was a kid again when he was with her. This was Danielle's first child, and she was ecstatic.

I stomped up the carpeted stairs straight ahead, and straight ahead again to my room. I opened the door, and then slammed it. I stayed there for a few seconds, furious for no reason. I walked up to the CD player, and grabbed my Breaking Benjamin. I loved that band so much. The sound and feeling to it was amazing.

The first track on the Phobia started silently through the speakers, and I dropped my backpack. I flipped onto my bed, and stared up at the pale blue wall. My whole room was boring and neat, nothing special. My mom and I had painted it together though, and that's why I had kept it.

I tried to listen to the music, but nothing was keeping my mind off of today's adventure. There had been this weird noise right when the bell rang- but no one else seemed to have heard it. I slightly pushed my black hair from my face.

My mind raced with weird thoughts. The sound strangely hadn't seemed... human. I shivered, knowing I was probably going insane. Out of my own instinct, I got off the bed, and walked to the window. Of course there wasn't going to be any monsters, I was just being extremely-

And I jumped when I saw someone outside. I squinted, hating how out of prescription my contacts were. But when I saw who it was, my mouth fell open.

The hair was what caught my attention. It was Destrey. He seemed to not want to be followed, constantly looking each way. Why do it in daytime then? I frowned, and looked around to see if anyone was following him. Of course I was going to go and see what he was up to. He shouldn't be out here.

This was Big Bear, but it was still freaky when someone walked around outside. He stepped on a old, stray snow pile, and he winced. His sneakers were much uncoordinated on snow and he slid slightly. I saw a curse form on his lips, and he rightend himself.

I quickly grabbed a jacket from the back of my desktop table's chair. It was the only thing out of its place besides my jacket in my unnaturally clean bedroom. I kept it clean for really good reasons. My dad didn't pry, and I didn't want him to think he had to.
