I cried the night when it happened. I was abandoned... no one cared. I was left all by myself. We went for a drive and stopped at a park. I played in the fields, and they left. Left me all alone. I would wait. I cried myself to sleep on the park bench until a hobo tried to flirt with me. That's when I realized what I had to do. I beat the hobo to death and ran away, never looking back. I was waiting... waiting... waiting...
I opened my onyx colored eyes, finding myself on the road... again. My name is Faith, Faith Grimms. I am almost fourteen and I've been living on my own since I was six. I was abandoned by my foster mother and father. They left me alone in the park. I have the power to read minds! I have long red hair, onyx eyes, and no freckles. I usually get hit on because of the way I look. People walk by and say they like my hair, my face, and the most I've heard is my chest... I smacked the last person who said that to me, and spent a night in jail for it. I've been shot, cut, and raped before. Only once, though! I was walking to my next place to stay the night when I was jumped by a hobo. Let's just say, when I finally got away three days later of being sexually abused, and physically abused, the hobo wasn't breathing anymore. My mission in life, to kill...
I started to walk down the sidewalk as guys whistled to me as they passed by. Apparently they forgot about the girl that walked beside them. They would pay one day. I pulled out the five hundred dollars that I stole from some guy in the alley way and walked into a gas station. I stepped inside and saw my cousin, Dan, at the counter, ringing up some man. The man started to walk away and looked at me, a big smirk on his face. I gave him 'the look' that Dan tought me how to use and he ran off.
"Hey, Dan!" I said as I walked behind the counter. I grabbed a beef stick and peeled off the wrapper. I bit into it and threw the rest over my shoulder. Most likely, this is illegal, but I think that my cousin is a babe! He has brown hair and blue eyes. He's always smiling at me and gives me free stuff. He is the only family I have left.
"Hey, Faith! How are you doing?" he asked me. He would've invited me to live with him, but his girlfriend, Jenny, hates kids, even teens...
"Great! I killed some guy that tried to lure me into his dungeon of doom!" I said. He knew that I killed for a living. He even covers for me, every chance he gets. "They cry like a baby once they realize that I have a gun! It's funny, really!"
Dan laughed. His laugh was so sweet and kind. His smile was angelic and warming. "You be careful. I can't keep covering for you; I think the cops are catching on!" he said.
"Whatevs! They don't know a basketball from their head!" I said. Just as I said that Mr. Drake walked in. He is a cop that knows about my killings, but hasn't caught me in the act. He doesn't have any proof, so he can't arrest me. I like to call him Mr. Duck-head.
"Faith! What are you doing bothering this man?" Mr. Duck-head said.
"Oh, you know me so well, Duck-head! I'm ganna slaughter this guy!" I said sarcastically. He gave me a look. "Oh, come on! He's my cousin!"
"I don't want to hear anymore about crime sprees. I've got enough on my plate!" Duck-head said. "You understand, Faith?"
"Oh yes, sir!" I said as sarcastically as possible. I giggled as he walked out of the store and down the block. I jumped up on the counter next to Dan. "He's such an idiot!"
"Ya, but he knows way to much! You and I could get in big trouble for this!" Dan said.
"Oh, please! Why would you get in trouble? I'm the one that's killing. If anyone is going to warm up that empty cell in the jail, it's ganna be me!" I said.
"Because I'm covering for you!" Dan said. A woman walked in, the woman that I threatened last weekend at the movies because she wouldn't give me twenty dollars. She looked up, saw me, screamed, and ran out the door. "See what I mean?"
"Ya, sure!" I muttered. "Maybe that woman took one look at you and thought, 'oh my God!!'" I said laughing at my little joke. I loved to pull stuff on him.
"What did you do?" Dan asked.
"Oh! Got some coffee and saw a movie!" I said.
"Where did you get money to do that?" he asked me, eyeing me suspiciously.
I didn't want to tell. I had stolen some money from his cash register when he went to the bathroom while I was there. "Umm...." I started. "I... uhh... took some from your cash register..."
"WHAT!" Dan boomed. I hated when he yelled at me. "That's why I'm twenty dollars short! Dammit!"
"Well that woman that just ran out wouldn't give me any!" I shouted back. "I'm ganna go now..." I jumped off the counter and ran out the door, not very happy that my cousin wasn't happy.
