Prologue
Molten lava slipped between her lips in the shape of words laced with seduction and suggestion that blistered and festered straight into the very core of her prey sitting across from her in the form of a dark haired, green eyed man. His body angled closer as she spoke and with a final flick of her hair, she knew she had him.
Reaching across the table, she let her fingers trail down a well-muscled arm as she slipped from the booth. Catching his finger firmly in hers, she gave him the gentlest of tugs. Without a trace of reluctance he pulled to his feet and let her lead him through the dimly lit bar, watching her hips sway to the mellow rhythm that hummed from an ancient jukebox tuck away in one of the rooms dark corners.
With one final glance as she reach the door, she cast her eyes over the man behind her and then beyond into the bar as if checking to make sure her movements where going unnoticed, before she led him out of the warmth and into the darkness surrounding the night, knowing that time was of the essence to gain what she needed from him, for in only an hour she would step back into the timeless oblivion, where even the most righteous God fearing men feared to tread.
That was it that was how it was for her and how it had been, every two weeks, for two hours, just as it had been for the last five thousand years.
