The morning was quiet.  Konoha had no yet awaken, the sun had barely rose.  However, a bright red headed girl was already up and walking throught the village.  Her eyes were glassed over, lost in memories and thoughts... this day would be a long one for her.  Being in her old village put her on edge, even more so when she thought about the attack she will have to do on her homeland.  Her worries, however, were for people from both parties...

What if it's Gaara who gets hurt?  And Naruto, or Sasuke, or even dad and mom?  What if I have to kill children?  Oh god, no I can't... they are too innocent.... I would never be able to....

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't take any notice of where she was going, or even the rising sun.  Gaara, who had been with her earlier, had left to wake his familly so that they could go train.  Amaya didn't bother waking Ishin or Akio, and instead just made breakfast for everyone and left it there for them to eat when, and if they awoke.  If she had awaken them, they would have fallowed her like lost puppies anyway, so it was better like that.  This way they would fallow the sand silblings instead of her.  She had the day free of them, and she would damn well enjoy it.  Snapping out of her thinking when she realised she needed to go and train, she looked in front of her, paled and froze.

She was in front of her old house.

Of her parents' house.

She heard movement from inside and jumped in the bushes, hiding from whoever would be showing.  She hesitated when she caught glimpse of her mother.  Should she stay?  Ensure they are well?  She wanted too, with all her heart, but her mind told her she wasn't ready to see them yet.  That she should turn around and run while she could, and never turn back.  She looked inside again, and saw her mother's smiling face.  She gripped the branch she didn't know she was holding tighter.  Her mother opened the window, humming, and breathed the fresh morning air.  Without even looking below her face, the young girl could tell two things.

Her departure still lingered in her mother's mind.  Dark circles were the proof of that.

Her mother was heavely pregnant.  Her face, even if tired, had the glow of ll the pregant mothers.  A wonderfull, and magnificiant glow that belongeg to them only.

Amaya relaxed.  She was going to be big sister! Her exitement took over her as she neared the edge of the bush to look closer.  Her mother, if she had noticed her, didn't aknowledge her presence.  Maybe she had mistaken her for an ANBU ment to watch over her.  Amaya knew her father well, and ever since the last attack, even if Kushina didn't have the Kyuubi, her would take all the necessary means to protect her.  Amaya sat down as her mother called her brother and her friend.  It put her heart at ease that they were all well, and broke it even more that she would have to betray them.  She bit back a sob as she watched her tired brother and her first friend come into view.  They ate and talked mearilly.  Minato soon joined them too.  Laughter filled the little house and Amaya made a mistake.  The mistake to laugh along with it.

By that time, she was really near the edge of the bush, and you could see her bright yet dark eyes clearly, as well as a few red strands of hair.  Kushina was the only one to spot her.  The heart of the young mother busted in happiness and joy.  Even thought she wasn't 100% sure of what she saw,she could always tell her precious daughter's eyes appart from anyone elses.  She smiled a bright smile shinning like thousand of sun at the bush, almost jumpig up to catch her daughter.  Seeing such a smile warmed the heart of Minato, that haven’t seen his precious wife smile like that in a while, but when he looked out the window, he didn't see anything that could have triggered it.  Softly, as for the boy to not hear, he took her hand and rubbed his thumb across her knuckles.

"What wrong, Kushina?" he asked softly.

Seeing her daughter disapeared, she turned to her husband.  "Nothing, girly.  The day just couldn't get any better." she giggled.  "Now hurry, or you are going to be late.  You too boys."
