Finally being able to open his eyes and see, he took the chance to look up at the trees. Marcus marveled at the small beams of light shinning through. More than that he wondered about the voice he heard in the forest, and the power it seemed to possess.

Thinking of that Marcus finally realized the lack of pressure on his chest. Slowly getting up in a daze, he propped himself on one arm, while holding his dizzied head in the other. The forest around him seemed hazy.

Ghost forest. Right. I get it now.

Sitting up with both arms Marcus took a look around the forest. The little bit of light that manged to make it through the leaves was growing brighter. The sun was rising. He had already wasted a day.

Hastily getting onto his feet to get a better look, he almost intently regretted doing so. As his head continued to spin Marcus noticed a small flicker of light in the corner of his eye. Turing he realized it wasn't just one light, but a faint trail. Closing his eyes to steady himself he noticed another hint of light. It was coming from his chest.

Grabbing the stone that hang from his neck, he took a few steps forward. The light changed brighter. Trusting his instincts and his only thing to go off of, he started to follow the trail of light. The actual trail was far from being clear. Rocks and vegetation leaped out of the ground, as did the grand roots of trees. After what seemed hours Marcus came to a stop, needing a break.

Me. A hero? I can even go a few steps in this forest without tripping! My life, if you could call it that, as a blacksmith's apprentice. I'm not even really allowed to make swords! I do what I'm told and do the dirty work. Now how am I suppose to make this grand sword and dagger? I don't even know what to inscribe into the blasted thing!

Taking a deep sigh he looked back at the glowing trail. Then taking a look at his neck wear once more he notice the small beat coming from it. The red stone was slightly thumping from bright to dim.

I must be getting close....?

Getting up from the rock Marcus continued to walk. Continuing to stumble across the lump ground he noticed a curtain of leaves with a small line of light. As he came close to the leaves he stumbled over a root he was certain was not there before. Falling, he fell through the curtain and onto a flat ground. Rubbing his head he started to stand up, and paused.

No.. No... NO!

The land before him was the same as his dream. Marcus's heart started to beat frantically, threatening to beat out of his chest. Breathing heavily he looked around.

Its... Its the same. It... it cannot be!!!

Darting his head back and forth, he took one step into the clearing. As he turned his head something caught his eye. Staring at the middle of the clearing Marcus came to notice a stone.

The stone stood at the exact center of the bare clearing. It was quiet large, and stood up to a deathly point. It had a slight distortion glowing around it, a dark purple field rippling around it. The dark stone was nearly black. While looking at it Marcus could see a deep grey color in it. He couldn't understand why, but he knew the core was filled with the grey color.

Staring at it he realized he had taking several more strides towards it. He could nearly touch it. Taking another step, Marcus came within inches of the stone. He didn't know what came over him as he found himself stretching out his hand towards the stone. As he glanced down at his hand he noticed his stone brightly shining.

Wait.. What?

As he stood looking down at it, the bright stone started to levitate upwards and then pull towards the stone. While the stone started tugging on his neck his whole body started being tugged further. Within moments he found himself touching a shivering smooth surface. His hand glowed and rippled through the mist surround the stone.

Though he did not stop there. Marcus found himself leaning closer to the stone, until finally, his stone reached the black.

From that contact a burst of light roared from the connection. Light busted all around him as he was blasted back from the explosion. Being blinded and dazed from the light, he hit his head on the ground and found himself stuck in blackness.

Coming to himself once more, Marcus found himself clutching his chest. Looking down he found himself horrified at what looked like the remains of a battle.

His shirt was tattered and burned, as where his pants, showing small burns upon his skin. What shocked him more was his neck, there was no stone upon it.

Looking across the meadow Marcus expected to see the aftermaths of the explosion and some kind of effect on the stone. Instead he found the clearing completely flawless, only, no stone. Marcus couldn't see the stone any where.

Walking up to where it originally was Marcus looked down, only to have his breath caught.

On the ground was his stone, laying beside it was the black stone with one major difference. It was tiny. It was the size of his palm, but every detail was the same. Around it was a small, barely visible purple cloud.

Now how am I suppose to make a dagger, let alone a sword out of this? The spirit told me to find a stone, I have found it. She also said that this is the object I take back with me. Gah! I'm so confused!

Bending down to pick up his neck lace and rock, Marcus tore off a piece of his shirt that was coming loose. With the cloth he wrapped the sharp stone and placed it carefully into his pocket. Turning to where he thought he originally came from, he headed out of the clearing and out of the forest.
