[Jamie Sunnet]
My feet shuffle in the fallen leaves as I trudge through the trees. The setting sun is warm on my face, but the wind of dusk is cool. Step by step I march forward. Even though every fiber in my body wants to turn back and beat the shit out of that demon, Renee, I can't stop. It's like I'm her slave, almost, doing everything she commands me to do whether I want to or not. It's like my own personal Hell.
In the far distance, I can make out the edge of civilization. After miles of walking, I've finally become just steps away from returning to where I belong: society.
I begin to sprint for the homes that sit just outside of the forest, my destination just feet away. All I can think about is how dead that witch is going to be once I burst out her secret!
First, I'm going to tell the police. They'll be so shocked when they hear what she really is that they'll have no choice but to lock her up for what she's done to me! Oh, this will ruin her! She'll be so miserable in jail, she'll probably end up killing herself!
But if I do that, I won't get to watch her suffer... No, I'll report her last, that way I get to watch her squirm and beg for my mercy before I send her away! So that only question is how I do that...
The thoughts began to stream in over my head, and then it hit me... Who is the only person that ever talks to her when she's in school? Who is the only human being that ever willing walks up to her? Who is the only creature brave enough to approach the beast without a sword in his hand? Cameron! So all I have to do is reveal her for who she truly is and boom. Her small sliver of a social life will disappear and she'll be forced into solitarianism because of how crushed she will feel. Not only that, but Cameron will be so tankful that he'll come crawling back to me! Yes... that's what I'll do... I'll reveal the truth to Cameron and everything will return to the way it's meant to be.
This plan is full proof. Nothing could possibly go wrong...

With school ended, I scurry towards the front doors where I spot Cameron reaching for the handle to lead. "Cameron!" I call out eagerly, waving my hand as I approach. He turns at his name, but the instant his eyes lock with mine, he snaps his gaze forward, pulling the door back hastily, his eyes wide. "Wait, don't go -- Cameron, wait!" I plead, racing after him down the concrete walkway that leads up to the school entrance.
I can see his burly body come to a regretful halt as my final pleads reach his ears. It takes me a second to catch up to him, leaving me slightly out of breath.
"Hey Cameron..." I nearly wheeze, clearing my throat before my voice comes back. "How've you been?"
He's silent for a moment, looking me up and down with harsh, judging eyes. His gaze is cold, and once he breaks the heaving silence, I notice so is his voice. "Never been better since becoming free from you." he states clearly, stinging me with his words.
The weight hovers over me, leaving me awestruck, eyes wide. "O-oh... Well, that's good..." I mumble, the awkward so thick I could nearly feel it encompassing me... I could barely remember why I was there with this feeling towering over me.
He doesn't move, gaze still digging into me.
A long silence looms over us, my stance uncertain and timid, his towering over me with every muscle marking his annoyance with my mere presence. The air around us was stiff, almost making me happy just to feel the cool wind stirring it away from us. Being so close to him reminded me of just how much I missed him, though, despite how unpleasant this was. I really was grateful for finally approaching him.
