People, Places and Terms

It has become apparent to me that the writing down of people’s names might be a useful tool in the struggles with my memory.  For this reason I have listed some of the persons I have met here while on Nahi, and some others I remember from Cassidian.  A few places and terms which I was unfamiliar with (and had to ask Chaliani about repeatedly) I have included as well.

 

Akuli – A wiry guardsman whom Chaliani appointed as my personal sentry.  He is in need of a sense of humor.

Antitwin – A board game between two players, each consisting of ten pairs of opposing pieces (dark and light).  Although the names of the pieces are different, the game played on Nahi bears a remarkable similarity to the one on Cassidian.

Blacksuits – Local Cassidian military forces.

Blue – An UpMove agent.  Green’s brother.

Burrow – A secret breach between tier walls on Cassidian.  Designed and built by UpMove as a channel for the smuggling of human cargo.

Canopy – The highest of the three tiers on Cassidian.

Cassidian – One of the capital tiered worlds in the Hunion.  Where I came from.

Chaliani - The Eye of Nahi and political ruler of this island.  I trust him.

CTC (Closed Timelike Curve) – An unknown celestial body that stretches from the upper stratosphere directly above Cassidian and extends far up into the exosphere.  It’s very large and rotating, but very slowly.  The same pink cloud exists here over Nahi, and because of this I believe the CTC acts as a bridge that somehow spans the vast distance between these two worlds.  Also called “the cloud”.

Cyris – A very capable UpMove agent on Cassidian whom I initially referred to as “Parted Hair” due to his precise appearance.  Blue and Green’s superior.

Elindra – Seirsy’s very young and stunning daughter.  She was employed at Hamm’s place along with her mother.  Also referred to as Lin.

The Father Sea – What the Nahese refer to the firmament (i.e. space) as.  One of their gods.

Finn – An intercessor who reached out to me in the palace conservatory.  Unlike the other high priests, he seems pragmatic and wants to help.

The Gardener – Who the Nahese believe I am.  In the book of the intercessors there is a story of a man who chooses his future over his past.  His name is only “the gardener” and I see no connection.

Green – An UpMove agent.  Blue’s brother.

Hamm – The proprietor of Hamm’s Place.

Haarth – Myria’s father.  An intercessor who has dreamed of me.
