Chapter Thirty Four

Dala ni Ishi ang bata nang puntahan niya si Delvert sa bahay nito. Robert assisted on taking her to her ex-lover's house. She asked for his permission days after their reconciliation. Gaya ng inaasahan, syempre hindi ito payag na makipagkita siya sa dating nobyo. He had all the reasons to not allow her see Delvert.

Katakut-takot na mga pagtatalo ang pinagdaanan ni Ishi sa kanyang pangungumbinsi. Kailangan niyang depensahan nang maigi ang sarili niya na hindi siya pupunta roon dahil may nararamdaman pa siyang pagtangi para kay Delvert. All she really wanted to do was to make sure that he is alive... and also, to say goodbye.

She couldn't do anything about the possessiveness of her husband. Hinayaan na lang niya ito sa gusto nitong paghatid sa kanya roon. Namimilit pa nga itong huwag umalis sa kanyang tabi kapag humarap siya sa lalaki. Hindi niya iyon pinayagan. She insisted that he should trust her. Ano pa nga't nagkaayos na sila pero wala pa rin naman itong tiwala sa kanya? Kasalanan naman niya kung bakit nabuo ang pagdududang iyon. But she's trying to tend the wound—and settling issues with Delvert is the start of it.

Sinalubong sila ni Delvert sa trangkahan. Hindi nito inaasahan ang kanilang pagbisita kaya halata ang pagkataranta sa mukha nito, lalo na nang makita si Robert. His facial features were hard, his jaw clenched at the sight of Robert. His features only softened when he saw the baby on Ishi's arms. He was happy to see his child. But he couldn't express it yet. Not in Robert's sight.

Parang sinaksak sa dibdib si Ishi sa hitsura ngayon ni Delvert. His face was swollen and the area around his eyes was purplish with bruise.

Pity, that's what she felt when he saw him.

Sa kuwarto nito sila nagpunta para makapag-usap sila ng pribado. Again, Robert protested at the thought. Privacy between his woman and her ex-lover nudged a thought that betrayal might occur again. Ngunit sa huli ay wala rin itong nagawa. It was a test of his trust to her, and a test of her loyalty to him.

Pagkasara ng pinto at nang mawala na sa paningin si Robert ay biglang nagliwanang ang mukha ni Delvert. "Puwede ko ba siyang hawakan?"

Ishi smiled warmly. Maingat niyang ipinasa rito ang bata.

"Guwapong bata, parang ako!" Abot-tainga ang ngiti ni Delvert habang hawak niya ang bata. The child made a sound and Delvert laughed. "See that? He agrees. Kapag lumaki 'to, siguradong pagtitilian siya ng mga babae."

Napatawa rin si Ishi. Pansin niya ang pagbabago kay Delvert nang mahawakan nito si Damian. His energy was elevated. Tila hindi nito ramdam ang pamamaga ng mukha at ang kung ano pa mang masakit sa katawan niya.

"He does look like you," she said nodding. "Hindi maipagkakaila na ikaw ang ama."

"Damian... that's what you named him, right? He's so cute, and definitely he'll be very handsome when he grows up." A big smile on his face. "My first child, Damian Samaniego."

Napakamot si Ishi sa likod ng kanyang ulo. "Tungkol d'yan... si Damian ay magiging Alcazaren. Robert decided to take him."

"What? No... No!" Delvert wrapped his arms around the baby like he was protecting it from harm. "This is my son!"

"D-Delvert, legal kong asawa si Robert. And the two of us are trying to mend our broken pieces. Gusto ko lang din na maayos kami, and he's giving me the chance! Let him do what he pleases."

"Are you telling me that things are over between the two of us? After all what happened? I fought for you, Ishi. I fought for you!"

"What we had was just an affair. He's my husband. I married him for a reason. Maaring nakalimutan ko ang kung ano mang mayroon kami noon, pero asawa ko pa rin siya. Bukas, maaaring hindi ko pa rin siya kilala, pero sa susunod baka makaalala na ako. At kahit hindi, siya pa rin ang asawa ko. Just let us be happy, please Delvert?"
