fears.

In this world there are
many things I fear
Like Bees and wasps
and things that go bump.

Like pain and death
and screaming in hospitals
like loss and fear
and just being alone.

fear of neglect, of attack,
of large crowds, of water,
of sport, of hamsters,
of life itself.

In a world of fear
My body is trapped
the door of salvation
barred shut from my hand

Waiting to be saved
To be needed, to help
Waiting for the pain to end
the loss to stop, the fear to cease

I'm lonely, I fall
silent to deaf ears
only one head turns
hears my cry clear as day

You offer your hand
you unlock the door
You help fight the fear
till it is no more

the dark turns to light
and finally I'm free.
I turn to face you
you turn to face me

you don't want to leave
for you were the same.
you smile then walk away
I call out your name

"Please don't leave me
Alone with the fear
please don't leave me
alone. Not here"

You smile once more
and take up my hand
and we walk up the path
to our happyest time on land

on sea or in air
You stay by my side
the pain of forever
knows now to hide

That one act of being there
Saved not one but two
Tell me do you love me?
