Chapter 5.5

Lily’s P.O.V.                          (a/n: Surprise!!!! :3)

I was pulled through a foggy haze, I followed the sound that had awoken me. The sounds were getting farther away! I chased them down trying to understand their meanings.

One sound was more distinct than the others, the noises were in a careful order. I tried to listen through the fog, to understand. Music? No. Animals? Probably not.

A person! Someone was talking. No, more than one person, all talking at once, I tried to focus on the distinct one. Soft, feminine, sweet. It was a girl talking. What was she saying though? I let my mind wander closer to the girl’s honey voice.

“She’s waking up!” The girl said with a bit of worry in her voice, though the statement itself was a bit more cheerful.

Who’s waking up? I wanted to ask, but I couldn’t find my mouth to form the words.

“Lily?” the girl with the bell like voice begged, “are you awake? Can you hear me?”

She sounded hurt, like she’d been crying.

I focused on the girl’s melodic voice rather than the words she was saying, it was too much work to try and find meaning in the different sounds.

But the voice, the voice. It sounded familiar. Where had I heard it before?

A face, fair skin, golden hair, raised cheekbones, a petite nose, full lips, and eyes in a perfect almond shape. The voice belonged to this girl. Her name? I couldn’t quite remember. The fog was still too thick.

She was saying something again, farther away this time. I couldn’t quite hear. The next thing I heard was another voice, it wasn’t even close to me, I shouldn’t have heard it, but I did, I heard the words perfectly as if they were meant for only me to hear.

“Little Lilo,” this new voice said.

Lilo. Lil’ Lilo. A name, no, a nickname. One that I recognized. One I hadn’t heard in awhile.

“It’s mine,” I heard a scratchy voice mumble.

“What?” the girl whose name I forgot asked close to me again. I could hear better, the fog was clearing. I understood the meaning of this simple word, but who was it meant for?

The mumbling scratchy voice repeated itself a tiny bit more clearly, “it’s mine.”

“Lily?” the newest non-scratchy voice asked.

Lily. A name. A girl’s name. My name I realized.

The voice that said my name was familiar too. Male, deep, kind, yet hiding something. I could see his face too, black hair, the same purple eyes.

“Cam!” the scratchy voice said.

Cam! That’s the boy’s name. And the girl’s name is-

“Kat!” the scratchy voice finished my own thoughts.

“Yes! Yes Lily! We’re here! Kat and Cam!” I could hear Kat almost perfectly now.

They’d said something about Lil’ Lilo, about me.

“L-Lilo,” the scratchy voice stuttered.

That was when I realized the scratchy voice belonged to me.

All of a sudden I found my way out of the fog. All of my body was numb, but my throat which hurt like crazy. I was suddenly aware of my surroundings.
