On rainy nights I can still hear the screams of all those I had grown close to in those few short months. Now, so many years later, I find it hard to picture their faces. I can feel them slipping away, slipping just out of reach. All I have left to remember them by are the screams, muffled by the rain, pouring down through the night as if if had no care on the world as to what was happening.
Although my memory of that night is rapidly fading, there is one creature I will never forget. He was a creature of great bravery, and the dearest and closest to my heart. He has a name I shall never forget, and that name, that name is Albaster.

I woke up that morning to the irritable sound of my nineteenth century old alarm clock, the same as every morning. Only, this morning was different. I had been up all night listening to the eccentric blubbering coming from inside my closet, and it didn't stop till about three o' clock in the morning. Which means I had gotten about four hours of sleep. I usually wouldn't mind except for he fact I has a big English exam in less than two hours, and I was in no shape to take it, let alone even go to school.
I was in the middle of contemplating whether I should go back to sleep when I hears my mother calling me from the kitchen."Sadie, you have five minutes to get down here or else you're taking the bus." Great. I hated taking the bus.
I wasn't what you would consider cool, or popular. I had big geeky glasses my mom insisted on me wearing, and I was the smartest girl in my grade. So naturally, I was labeled as four eyes or geek face. I hate both, and when I rode the bus even more names started spilling out of the evil kids' mouths. And it usually wasn't long before someone had me pinned against the window demanding my lunch or money.
I screamed that I'd be down in a minute, and so to avoid riding the bus I threw on whatever was scattered around my room. I didn't care if it matched. I then tossed a book into my already crammed bookbag and in my haste I, of course, tripped over Harry, spilling all the contents of my bag. I was for sure riding the bus now.
Harry is my jack russel terrior. I named him Harry because his face is covered in long messy brown locks, causing his head to look like a mop.
He gave a quick yelp and ran out of my room. Already I could te it was going to be a bad day, and ibwas not looking forward to it.
