Chapter 2
I put my now bruised hands together in prayer.
“Please God, take the pain away. How many tears must I cry to get your attention?” I cried.
“Do you hate me as my father does?” Tears were falling down my face.
“I swear, I haven’t done anything wrong. All of the teachers at school say you love me, but I can’t believe that.” I choked on my tears, barely managing to whisper the words.
“Every night I beg for you to protect me, but you never do. So I don’t think you can do that, but I ask you for one thing, and one thing alone.” I lifted up my eyes and let the tears fall endlessly.
“Kill him.”
