Mark's POV:

"You think they're going to be alright?" I ask Ben, worried and concerned about everyone down there, despite not knowing them all.

Ben shrugs. Not the response I was looking forward too. But I guess you can't sugar coat the situation. "It all depends on if we can hold out until the bomb goes off."

I nod, frowning as I think about what he'd said, "How much time do you estimate do they still have left until it goes off?" I ask, curious.

Ben checks his watch, "They've been down there for at least a good solid hour. That means they've got an hour to get out before the entire place explodes."

"What if it doesn't?" I ponder on my thoughts.

Ben raises both eyebrows in surprise at what I was implying, "What do you mean?"

I'm about to explain my theory when there's a loud banging sound. I jump around to see vampires form the other side trying to escape, barging their way through but not getting very far. But the Seda family expected as much and shoot them down with their bow and arrows, stakes, wooden bullets...you name it.

They're no joke. I didn't realize what master hunters were until now. Nothing and no one can get by them at this rate. These vampires trying to escape are dropping like flies. It's chaos out here and I can only imagine how it looks down there, probably a hundred times worse.

When they start screeching in pain and falling to the ground to shrivel and die, blood everywhere, I force myself to turn away, unable to take it. Emotionally, I was weak. Ben sees my discomfort and feigns a small ghostly smile, "It's all going to be alright son. You'll see." he lies in order to try and comfort me. I see through it because the fearful fleck in his eyes say another story to what his words are saying.

Chad's POV:

Everywhere I turn there's just another face to be erased. There's no peace, not even a moment to catch my breath. We had the upper hand of stealth and our little sneak attack, but now that that's been used up, we're starting to fall.

Of course we kept moving, at least we've fought our way to the middle. But now we're starting to fall back because they keep pushing us back. There is so many of them. I didn't realize they'd be so full in numbers. And they came prepared, weapons and all...

I watch in dread as yet another one of our wolves fall. I shake my head to ridden myself of the image. I have to keep moving forward. It's up to me. I'm their leader now. Their alpha went off with that reckless kid, his son, Slate.

"We need back up!" I shout to the beta, hoping he'd come up with a plan. I strike the vampire coming for me with the wooden stake. "If we keep dropping like this we're going to have to retreat."

The wolf growls, signalling he'd heard me and he was thinking of a way to save our asses.

We don't have time! Screw this!

"We're not giving up. Forget tactical retreat. I'm not letting them die in vain!" I shout to the last few wolves still standing, motioning to their fellow wolves of their pack that had fallen in battle. They didn't shed their blood for nothing. We can't turn back now. We're in too deep.

And it's if time stills for a second or two as I glance around helplessly, seeing all my fellow comrades suffering and an explainable undesirable rage fills my veins, my souls, my very essence.

This ends now!

I'm done playing clean.

I hear the snarl of one of them trying to attack me form behind. The coward. It's then that I realize it's the vampire leading the army against us in this very moment. He was trying to get rid of me because everyone knows that a team falls apart without their leader.
