Chapter 8

Lance’s POV

I scratched my head as we walked into the house.  “There is no excuse but the fact we needed to make sure the boy was ok. One thing lead to another and well, shit girl. I fucked up. I am so sorry.” I told Miranda in hopes she would not run.

She huffed and had her arms crossed in front of her while she tapped her right foot. Randal’s laugh was what broke the tension. “Damn she even gets mad like her mama. Good luck with this one.” He said as he smacked my back. I had to smile at the image he just conjured up in my head.

After a minute she turned to Randal. “So what happened? I have been here worried all this time and still don’t know.”

“Well it was Rose’s mother who was jilted and all her money was taken too. Kind of seems like the fates are on our side. When he didn’t take her back, she rammed her car into him.” Randal explained to her.

“But how is he now?”

“Broken leg, and ribs, but the worst part is that he is temporarily blinded.” I told her and she looked shocked.

“How will he care for the child? She needs constant supervision.”

I ran my fingers through my hair. “Randal and I will each take turns, since the boys mama will be by his side until he comes home.”

Miranda’s POV

Well it seems like they are going to be in a big crunch. I tried not to let my. I need to help the world attitude take over. I mean I hate this man right. He left my mother with me and never looked back.

“We need to talk” Lance said cutting into my thoughts.

“I’ll go make us some tea” Randal said as he walked to the kitchen.

I sat on the couch opposite Lance. “Once upon a time. I meet the woman of my dreams. It was a love that Randal felt too. But mine was stronger since our chemistry was there. So the princess chose me.  I never told her I came from money. So I knew she loved me for me. I could not ask for a better woman. So I proposed and she gave herself to me.”  He said I don’t know if it is the fact that I have a day care that has him broaching the subject in this was. But I found myself enthralled as he talked about my mother. How they meet and all the things they did together.
