The Wolf Finds Out What Red Riding Hood Is: Chapter 8

I know I had to make this as painless as possible for Sam because Vanessa would kill me if I didn’t.

“Prepare the meat. She’s going to need it.” I knocked on Vanessa’s mental wall and waited for her to respond. I felt the mental wall come down and a voice flooded my mind.

‘Who goes there?’ It was the voice of a really old guy. It kind of creeped me out.

‘Sorry sir. I thought this was my Girlfriend’s mind.’

‘No Caleb its me.’ Wow.

‘Nice voice. If you have your mental walls up use different voices every time to disguise yourself. It will help.’ I can’t believe my Girlfriend can do these things. I blocked her from seeing what I was and talked to Arthur.

“Hey Arthur can anyone use a fake voice in their own mind when talking to someone?”

“Not really. I’ll see what I can find on it.”

‘Okay? I guess. So what do you want?’ I barely caught it, but I answered her quickly.

‘Well Sam’s in her final stage. She’s about to shift for the first time.’

‘Will she be in pain?’ Yes.

‘No the pain’s gone. She’s just extremely warm. Like if someone were to put a stove on to warm.’ Liar. Are your pants on fire yet?

‘Geez. So I can come back?’

‘No.’

‘Why?’ She sent me a thought of her giving me a pout and puppy dog eyes. That is so cu...What am I thinking? I laughed it off and said.

‘Because she will want the closest source of fresh meat to satisfy her wolf. If you are there she will choose you. We have to feed her first and then you can come.’

‘Okay. I don’t want any mental pictures.’

‘You got it. Where are you guys?’

‘Come to think of it. I didn’t even realize until now that we are in a car. It looks like we’re on the opposite side of the town.’ Typical.

I laughed inside her mind again and said. ‘That doesn’t surprise me. You’ve never been that observant. Tell Conner he has to keep you busy for just a while longer.’

Okay, I will. Bye!’

‘Bye babe.’ I knew she wouldn’t be happy with that so I quickly put up my mental walls and heard her next words hit it. It didn’t make it in, but I knew what they would be.

“Hey Arthur anything come up?”

“Yeah she could be almost anything. Anything, but a were. Were’s don’t tend to get this good this quick with a mental link and they can’t do other voices. The absolute worst she could be is, well you know.”
