The Alliance Chapter 14

To be honest I had no idea what happened to me. I remember a wind sweeping me up and the light starting to hurt my eyes. I felt my whole entire body convulse and then I wasn’t there anymore- not physically anyways.

I was walking on a surface I couldn’t even see. Everything was still hazy except for the figure that I took to be my father. He had these angelic white wings. It didn’t even look like those department store wings that were all feathery, his resembled sheer opaque wings with such fine feathering that it moved and bent in ways that looked as though it was truly apart of him.

I was just about to ask why I was here when he decided to speak. “ You know your mother was an exquisite creature. She was engaged to your other father when I met her, can you believe she rejected me. Mind you it was hard to find her, her sister had an uncanny resemblance.” The man spoke as angelic as he resembled, but this upset me even more. My father ,my real non-biological father didn’t deserve what my mother did to him.

“ You know usually it’s women that are home wreckers, not men.” I added spitefully.

“ You certainly have your mothers wits about you. It took a lot of persuasion to make her see reason.” The man continued to entail onward as I followed him seeing as I was not familiar with the surroundings.

“ Where are we?” I tried looking through the opaque fog surrounding us but it was useless.

“ Utopia, darling. That’s what heaven is, our version of Utopia. I was surprised when you summoned me but I do have a gift for you.” After we came to a standstill to see a beach. Tall green trees, golden sand and the water sparkled.

“What’s your name and what did you mean when you said “ make my mother see reason?” Weren’t you in love with her, aren’t you suppose to be wingless if you’re a fallen angel?” I didn’t mean to over do it with questions but I had so many.

He let out a soft laugh, “ Uriel but you may address me as Uri or father. I do have my wings because I continue to have my rank. A higher archangel named Micheal gave me strict orders to follow. There was a prophecy that you’re mother was pure and uncorrupted she was suppose to give birth to a Nephilim daughter whom would save humanity on Judgement Day. As for your other question I was in love with her, the more I watched her the more infatuated I became.”

I almost felt sorry, I still didn’t understand how I was suppose to save humanity and how any of this made sense. “My brother?”

“ A genetic mishap? I should have known as a twin that she carried the genes and your brother was a fluke. A very problematic fluke.” The last bit he said made me feel like he might be worried about Tristan.

“How so?”

“You were born to create a balance between good and evil. If more evil is added into the equation....” Uriel’s voice trailed off.

I knew right away what he was getting at even if it was hard to believe I was here for a distinct reason. I thought about telling Uriel about my less than adequate powers but I didn’t want to add more to this already intense situation. Besides what would I say ‘ Hey daddy you must not be very powerful because my powers are a total dud.’

Uriel turned to look at me and smiled . “They’ll come, the longer it takes for your powers to fully surface the stronger you will be.”

For a split instant I wondered if he had heard my thoughts. I sat on a beach chair thinking how weird this place was.

“ Close your eyes and think of somewhere you loved as a child.” Uriel looked at me encouragingly.

I did as he had asked, I closed my eyes thinking about somewhere I loved as a child. I wasn’t sure what I would think of but the second I opened my eyes we were sitting in a field not far from my old house as a child. There was a white table and little chairs where my dolls and I used to come have our tea parties as a kid. I couldn’t help but laugh, this was definitely weird.

Uriel extended his hand holding out a giant clear crystal. “ There is another reason I came here. I need you to see this, you may not fully understand it but you will in time.”

I was scared to touch it but I found my hand moving on it’s own in the direction of the crystal. I felt like a shock go through me like I was being electrocuted. Flashes and images pulsed through me, some made less sense than others. One moment I was standing in a hall with hundreds of other hunters, from the looks of it I was shouting. The next image had me covered in blood, it was frightening to see. There was a giant battlefield and what looked like hundreds of Alliance members and vampires carrying weapons, I saw myself and Ambrose then flashes of more blood and Tristan. The next image sent shivers down my spine there was a woman hoveringover a girls’ limp body holding a crystal on a chain swinging it over her body. The words she said I heard as clear as bells ,

“ 40 days of rain , 40 nights of hell. A war where the beginning meets the end. A life was taken ,it shall be restored. A higher power I beg for your mercy, release her. Release her and punish us no more.”

The woman drew blood with a blade in the center of her palm drawing a pentacle and mumbled something as the blood in her hand started to turn black, she poured it over the girl’s heart and that’s when I saw she was pregnant , her protruding belly layed as still as she had. Suddenly I was surrounded by blood and gore it was horrific and some images passed by too quickly for me to get a good look at. I pulled my hand away feeling extremely shaken.

Uriel looked at me before helping me up, “ You have to leave now. I’m always watching over you, if you ever need me I will hear your call.”

“ Thanks , Uri.”

I woke up feeling like I was well rested. I wondered if it was a dream, it wasn’t until I noted Ambrose, Dalton and Gabe hovering over me desperately trying to wake me up. It was kind of entertaining to watch everyone look so worried, I didn’t hesitate as I stood up and blinked a few times.

“ Why does my head hurt?” I rubbed the back of my head.

“ You hit it when you passed out, how are you feeling?” Dalton asked.

I let out a soft laugh. “ Great actually, best sleep I’ve had in years.”

Ambrose shook his head as the worry left his face. “ What happened to you?”

“ I asked for the wrong father I ended up meeting my real father Uriel.” I said dryly as I started to make my way to the cushioned chair and sat myself down. The others joined me pulling their chairs in closer, I didn’t realize how creepy the library looked all abandoned late at night.

“ Uriel’s an archangel, you’re father is an archangel?” Gabe looked floored.

I shrugged “ I guess so, he was pretty alright. Can we talk about this later though I think I need some more sleep.”

Gabe nodded while pulling out more books I think these however were biblical. He definitely seemed fascinated with who my father was. Not that I wasn’t however I had a few things I wanted to find out and I wanted to get it done now.

Ambrose and Dalton walked me to my room and as soon as they left I snuck out in the opposite direction. Now if I was an ex-priest in training where would I be? It didn’t take long to figure out where Oliver was, the same place he spent his entire life. I didn’t want to ask Anna because that would entail a long detailed story on her night’s worth of events and secondly I didn’t want to have to involve anyone else in this, it was too personal for that.

When I entered the church I immediately found the confession curtain closed and from the shoes I recognized to be Oliver’s. He made it a habit of wearing white dress shoes with green laces, it was tacky but it made him easily identifiable. I noticed the other side of the confession booth was empty there wasn’t another priest in it so I slipped in unnoticed.

I slid the curtain shut and sat on the bench which Oliver heard because he began to speak.
“ Father, I’ve been conflicted tremendously as of late. I’ve done something unspeakable but I enjoyed every minute of it.”

I felt a smile sweep over my face ‘ That dog’. I mumbled in reference to Anna she really did corrupt sweet innocent Oliver. I let out a cough trying to not give myself away but still giving some sort of recognition that I was still here and listening. I know I was likely going to hell for this, oh who was I kidding I will most likely go to hell for all the other sins I’ve committed as well as the future sins I assumed I’d commit.

“ I know it’s frowned upon but I really am in love. I knew ever since I was a little boy I wanted to be close to god , that I wanted to be a priest. How can one woman change all that?” Oliver sounded like he already knew talking about this would be pointless, his heart had clearly overruled any indecision he may have had.

“ A good blow job can do wonders.” I added trying to contain my laughter.

Seconds later I heard Oliver get up and pull the curtain across to stare at me. He shook his head while whispering.

“Trinity, you shouldn’t be there it’s disrespecting God.”

“ Oh please, Oliver my birth likely offended God so let’s skip this I need something.” I smiled while being escorted out of the booth by Oliver who was clearly embarrassed on my sitting in on his confession.

Oliver folded his arms looking like a cross child. “ A new hobby? Eavesdropping is rude you know?”

I smirked while making my way to the bench in the back of the church. I lowered my head in respect then did the sign of the cross with my hand before sitting down, at least I still had some class to me.

Oliver sat beside me, there were very few people in the church it looked nice as the shadows of the candles flickered on the wall making the images on the stained glass look even more magnificent then they already did.

“ What do you know about Uriel?” I asked laying my back against the wood of the bench while staring up at the angels on the ceiling. I really didn’t feel like googling information about my father when I could so easily access the information I needed from the most sincere source possible.

Oliver’s face lit up you could instantly tell being tied to God was just so natural for him. “ Uriel is only the most epically awesome Archangel out there. He also goes by ‘light of god’ or ‘fire of god’.In the Book of the Watchers or also known as the Book of Enoch that tells about how Uriel along with Raphael and Grabriel were present before God to testify on behalf of Humankind. They asked for divine intervention during the reign of the Fallen Gregori which were Fallen Watchers. They took human wives and produced half -angel, half human offspings which as you know is known as the Nephilim. Uriel was also responsible or contacting Noah about the Great Flood.”

I found all this pretty interesting all things considered he was my father. “ So what would it mean to be his daughter?” I asked raising an eyebrow, looking over at Oliver who started snickering.

“Well Trinity that would be impossible.” Oliver paused and snorted as his laughter steadily increased. “Fallen angels produce offsprings and Uriel is one of the most righteous of angels and besides he’s not fallen.”

“ Well when I spoke to him after he confirmed he is indeed my father ,which I might add I get my good looks from. Told me about my mother and some prophecy about some Judgement Day.” As the words left my mouth Oliver stopped his laughter and seemed almost frozen.

“All power is given to him in heaven and in earth. His kingdom is rightfully the whole earth, but much of it is held still by the enemy, who has to be conquered. He will prevail finally, and the kingdoms of the earth shall become the kingdom of the Lord and his Christ. The wheat raised from the good seed is the "children of the kingdom," the disciples of Christ converted by his word. The tares are not bad church members, but bad men; those who have been under the influence of the wicked one. The righteous and wicked are to remain in the earth together. The righteous are not to exterminate the wicked. The evil and the good will be mixed until judgment day. Then all shall be gathered at the throne of judgment. The righteous shall "inherit the kingdom." All that are wicked shall be cast out of the kingdom. An eternal separation shall take place.”

Oliver looked as though he were in some sort of shock, I gave him a nudge and started to look worryingly at him.

“So uhh I guess this war just got a bit bigger?” I joked but Oliver’s serious expression caused me to feel slightly alarmed.

“Trinity this is very important that you remember what else happened while you spoke to Uriel?”

I closed my eyes trying to think back. " I touched this crystal I saw flashes I was with other hunters and was shouting then I was covered in blood , a battlefield and Ambrose was by my side and there was Tristan. I saw a woman with a swinging crystal on a chain hovering over a girls body. She said some weird stuff."

"Can you remember what was said?"

"40 days of rain, 40 nights of hell. A war where the beginning meets the end. A life was taken, it shall be restored a higher power I beg for you mercy, release her. Release her and punish us no more." I had to pause and think a little harder replaying it all like a movie in my head.

" There was a blade and blood pooued over the woman's heart . The woman was pregnant There was so much blood I don't remember anything else.”

Oliver looked at me just staring at me in silence , which was already eerie considering what I’ve already been through. “ Anyways I’m getting way off track I need you to do me a favour , sneak me in the Repository I need to find my mother’s sister.”

“ Trinity you know I don’t like doing things that will get either of us in trouble.” Oliver didn’t seem nearly as convinced as I had hoped he would.

“ You didn’t seem to mind earlier with Anna.” I winked at him as he blushed and quickly looked away.

“Fine but we do this quickly and if you get me in trouble, I will ….. stop praying for you.”

A smile grew on my face as I let out a laugh “ You mean you haven’t already? Deal.”

We headed our way down the Archives to find more information on my mother’s mysterious sister.
