Summary:

Since long ago, human civilization had lived on the ocean floor. However, there were many humans who wanted to live above the surface and they moved to land creating a fundamental separation between the two. After their school closes down, four 14-year old middle school students from the sea village, Shioshishio, have to attend Mihama Middle School on the surface. What follows is their struggles to adjust to a new environment and the relationships between the sea and land people, while dealing with their own newfound feelings that have just started appearing with the end of their childhood.

Great art and character design. Even though they half explained it. The land and sea thing was messin' with my head. The way they moved around in the sea was no different from on land. Hikari with in the first few mintues of the first episode witnessed the momment his crush fell in love with someone else. That was a sad momment.

Problem with the story. If there is so much hate between the land and sea people why shut down the school and send teh children to the surface school? And why is it only 4 in the whole sea city?

This is a moderately paced anime, you fast pace action watches might not like this.

Around episode 12 I got bored with it. I made it to the end with a 'meh' feeling.

A bonding friendship story mixed with coming of age and drama. Some compare it to  AnaHana (It wishes it was that good) Saying that it was the most beautiful anime they've ever seen. I disagree, I've seen better.

I give it a 3 out of 5.
