Reunited [Completed]

First of all, Thanks for Reading! It means a LOT to me. :)

Next, I'm sorry the flashback (at the end of the story) is too long. I have just started writing and this was one of my firsts. So, i hope you'll excuse me. 

And I know that the Cast for the story isn't THAT perfect either. I have changed some appearances of the actors and actresses, such as the hair and eye color. I have also made Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning as twins in my story, even though they aren't in real life. (But they look so much alike!)

The sky was an intense shade of crimson and the sun looked like a yolk, setting beyond the sphere. From the top of the cliff where Ashley Fernandez was standing, she could see the blanket of sparkling blue water below her. She tried to think about jumping but couldn’t stop her trembling legs which seemed to have turned to jelly and wouldn’t budge. I can do this, she thought, closing her eyes. Ashley took a deep breath and jumped. She plunged head-first into the bottomless sea.

The water current was stronger than Ashley had anticipated and she found it difficult to swim. Choking on cold water that had somehow found its way into her nose and lungs, she struggled to stay afloat.

She panicked, struggling to think of what to do next. Her thoughts became sluggish and she knew she would be towed underwater any second now....

The last thing she remembered before she passed out was being dragged towards the shore by someone.

Regaining consciousness, Ashley saw that there was a girl, kneeling beside her on the sandy beach.

"Thank god! You're okay!" The girl cried as soon as she saw Ashley flutter her eyes open. 

“Thank you for saving me….but who are you?” she wondered aloud, confused.

The girl looked strikingly similar to herself, only with green eyes and auburn hair while Ashley was a brunette with ocean blue eyes. She felt a strong connection to the stranger, a bond of some kind she couldn't  understand. The girl got up and brushed sand off her jeans. She seemed unprepared for the question. 

“I don't think you know me.” the girl pondered, “My name is Isabella F. Smith.”

She looked at Ashley. Could it be who she thought it was? No, she decided, it can't be. What will my family be doing in California? 

Then, she walked away, with a final glance at Ashley.

That night was the first time Ashley found the clue that got her to wonder if things really were how they appeared to be.  She was in the kitchen of her house in California, where she and her parents- Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez – had lived as long as she could remember. She rummaged through a drawer, looking for a plate, when her eyes fell on a newspaper cutting and she picked it up. The date at the top of the page revealed it was from several years ago. There was a column at the right side of the paper. Ashley peered at it, and gasped.

There was a picture of a 4-year old girl and the resemblance between her, when she was little, and the picture was astonishing. She quickly scanned the news. It said the girl’s name was Isabella and she was lost for about a week. And if anyone should find her, to report to the number given. That's weird, Ashley thought, the stranger she met on the beach had the same name too.

That night she lay in bed, thinking hard.
