By lunch time everyone knew about Elizabeth and the new teacher. Elizabeth had been called into the principal's office and had to explain to Mr. King that she had had a relationship Eric before he became a teacher and the relationship had been over for quite some time now. Thankfully, Mr. King seemed satisfied with Elizabeth's explanation and let her go to lunch without further question.

As Elizabeth wheeled her self thorough the lunch line, she could feel everyone staring at her and whispering as she grabbed a small bag of salt and vinegar chips for the lunch rack and paid the cashier.

"Is that all you're getting Bethie?, Jessie asked for beside her in line.

"Yeah, I'm not that hungry."

Jesse said nothing but added another basket of fries, a chicken sandwich and a peanut better topped brownie to the already massive amount of food on his tray.

Growing boy. Elizabeth thought as she followed Jesse to the table where Stefanie, Ryan and Amber were sitting with a few other people Elizabeth didn't recognize.

As Jesse pulled a chair out of Elizabeth, he introduced her to the others.

Ethan was a stocky tall boy with a shaved head who was also on the football team. Rachel, his girl friend was small and reminded Elizabeth of a pixie. They were setting beside each other hip to hip and clearly in love. The other boy Lane, who turned out to Ryan's brother, was tall with the same blonde hair as his brother was reading a book.

Jesse sat down in a chair beside Elizabeth and took one of the baskets of fries and the chicken sandwich in front her. Elizabeth looked at him dumbfounded.

"You better finish that. You still have a peanut butter brownie to eat too."

Before Elizabeth could respond, Ethan blurted out, "Jesse you're whipped.", he said jokingly.

This earned him a dirty look from Jesse, a blush from Elizabeth and a kick in the ankle from his girlfriend.

After an uncomfortable minute of silence Jesse spoke up. "So you guys, what do you say after the game Friday we go up to my grandparents farm and stay the weekend?"

"Cool!" Ryan and Stef said.

"Count us in!"chimed Ethan and Rachel.

" I gotta work this weekend". Lane said disappointed.

" Me too.", Amber said.

Jesse noticed Elizabeth hadn't said anything. She sat with her head slightly down and wound a strand of her hair.

"Bethie, you in?"

Elizabeth hesitated. "Um, I don't know Jessie. It's really difficult for me to stay at different places." Her face turned red. Um.. ya know like getting dressed and all that. My dress sling is really hard to move."

"I'll help you.", Stefanie chimed in.

"See, Bethie Girl? It's settled.", Jesse said with a face splitting grin.

"But my chair might get stuck and the ground might be rocky...-"

Jesse hand up his hand cutting her off, " The property has cement walk ways all over. You can go anywhere we can. Please come with us? Please?"

He looked at her with pleading eyes. If Bethie didn't come all his plans would be ruined. He'd be miserable the whole weekend with out her.

After what seemed like an eternity, Bethie spoke up. "Okay, I'll go but on one."

"Anything", Jesse said excitedly.

"You have to ask Daddy."
