Dedication of A Poet
By Don Morrison
Copyright 2000-2010
Most authors might give all their art in strife
To God, county, family, and hide their mask;
Just hoping gold and fame would let them bask
In sin which holds the World with pleasure's knife.
I wish I'd given more to a dear wife.
Of those against whom I have sinned, I ask
Forgiveness, and that shall be their life's task.
Be the truth known of my soul's wicked life
None other would have me, but sin's coffer,
But I accept Christ, and God did hear it.
Thank Him, that in hell I shall not smother!
My meager talents I humbly offer
To God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
With the love of these I'll need no other.
