Barry Manilow wrote the life story of Quintin Q. Hollingsworth, without broccoli. This was considered strange, because Quintin was famous as the president of the International Broccoli Lovers Consortium, and wasn’t known for anything else.
But Barry Manilow was a card carrying member of the Consortium, and had been initiated into the secret knowledge that broccoli was actually a hallucinogenic drug, when eaten under a full moon.
When this knowledge had leaked to the public, and broccoli had been declared a “controlled substance”, Barry’s book was used to help Quintin Q. Hollingsworth avoid the topic of his past association with broccoli.
