“I don’t think that such a good idea.” Jane said when I told her to go home and pack. I frowned grabbing her hand squeezing it softly.

“I need you to help me with all the stress I’m about to put myself through.” She held my stare and slowly her eyes softened.

“Alright, I’ll go get packed.” I smiled wrapping my arms around her shoulders pulling her tightly into me.

“Thank you.” I whispered into her ear. She hugged me back then left, and as she did part of my soul went with her, leaving a small space of nothing deep within me. I ran up to my room and grabbed my duffle and started packing my clothes and personal items.

“I’m all packed and will be in the living room.” Dad said stopping at my door as he left his room.

“Alright, I’m almost done myself.” I grabbed the denture cream tube from the bathroom counter and throw it into my bag, and zipped it up. I pulled it over my shoulder and left closing my room behind me and hurried down the stairs to the living room. I was surprised to find Danny standing there talking to my dad.

“Alright, I’ve notified the sheriff that we would be in his area, and he will have extra patrol pass by the property several times a day. Myself and the other police that are here will be station through the farm at random area.” Dad narrowed his eyes slightly as he stared down Danny.

“I hope they do better there than they had here.” I shook my head stepping up next to him.

“He doesn’t mean to be so rude.” I said with a smiled cause Danny to smile back. I looked up at dad and found him looking a little annoyed with me, and I smiled leaning into his side. “You know that you love me.” I said in my best little girl voice causing him to laugh. With the tense averted, I started for the door and smiled when they followed.

It was a quick trip over to Jane, then the long eight hour drive started. I was sitting in the back with Jane listening to a new CD that Jane got in the mail. I could easily tell that dad wasn’t into the music. “You can turn it off if you like.” He frowned looking back at me with a sarcastic face.

“You know that this is the dead zone for anything good.” I smiled for I had forgotten that little fact.

“Sorry,” he rolled his eyes then looked back towards the road. I felt a Jane’s finger move slightly over my neck, causing shiver to spread down my back. I laughed turning slightly to look at her and found her staring at me. “What?” I asked when she rubbed her finger over my neck again.

“Nothing,” she said in an innocent like voice. I leaned over laying my head on her shoulder, and she moved her arm until her hand started rubbing the side of my head. I must have fallen asleep after a moment of that, because the next thing I knew was the large bump that nearly bounced me out of my seat. I looked around to see that dad had pulled into a gas station, and I looked over to find that it had been four hour, nearly half the trip was gone.

I undid my seat and got out pulling Jane with me as I ran into the station and over to their hotdog turner. “You know they’re not good for you right?” She said turning her nose up at the hotdog as they slowly turned over and over. I smiled and nodding my head turning towards her with a hungry expression.

“But they’re tasted so good, get you one, my treat.” She rolled her eyes but started making one. Once I had finished making my own I turned and walked over to the chips and frown when I couldn’t find my favorite, so I grabbed the next best thing, Doritos Cool Ranch. I smiled when Jane grabbed a bag of Lays Salt and Vinegar, my third favorite although I preferred Toms over Lays.
