-Chapter Eighteen-

I groaned when I woke up in a room that I didn't recognize as my own, I tried sitting up but the way my ribs protested had be crashing back down into the pillows with a slight moan in pain. I couldn't hear anything so either no one was home or I was really weak from the beating. I was sure that the rebellion wouldn't have placed me in a warm bed. Finally I remembered those twins Zack and Hunter come and stop the beatings. They had once been a part of the Council so I assumed they weren't the enemy. For now. I rolled over a bit and heard a paper crumpling under the pillow so I reached under pulling it out to see that it was an envelope so I opened it and saw a picture. I pulled it out to see myself and Firo holding hands on a roller coaster; I was utterly shocked as I stared wide eyed at the picture. So he wasn't lying to me when he said we used to date before. I read the back which had my writing on it. It read, "Our first roller coaster...Firo was scared shitless." I laughed at what I had written until my ribs were aching more than they had been.

I looked around, had this been my room before then? Or had someone just placed this here for when I woke up? I tried to get up again, but this time the door burst out and the twins stood there. The one named Hunter grinned menacingly and the one named Zack was holding back a slight smirk.

"Uh, I wanted to thank you guys for your help back then, but I should really go now," I answered. "Alan is probably worried and I have someone I need to talk to-"

"Fray is busy at the time cleaning a dire mess and Alan is busy with Kendal," Hunter informed smirking. "Now we have to fix you up."

"What do you mean fix up?" I gulped; I was in no condition to fight two demons who used to be in the Council.

"You didn't think we'd let our nephew go back to work for the Council after we know they beat you just as bad as that man from our rebellion, do you?" Hunter arched a brow.

"Nephew?" I frowned.

"Don't confuse him," Zack muttered. "Let's just get it over with."

"What?!" I gaped as I tried to get away, but Hunter pounced on me making me fall to the ground groaning just a foot away from the window. "Leave me go already! I don't even know you guys."

"You used to worship me!" Hunter growled pinning me to the ground and I struggled glaring at the insane bastard who grinned broadly.

"Hunter, don't kill him," Zack growled taking Hunter off me and I stood making me way to the door to dash out.

"You let him get away!" Hunter growled at Zack as I slipped out of the room. Not more than a few seconds after I was on my butt from having slammed into something very hard. When I looked up I met Hunter's crazed glance down at me.

"I'm getting annoyed with you, Sassy," he muttered.

"That's not my name!" I snarled as he pulled me onto his shoulder and dragged me into a different room that was more like a ballroom because it was an empty room with strange designs all over the walls and floors that seemed to be painted there with gold. He dropped me onto the center and Zack appeared there standing off to the side.

"Sit," Hunter ordered as he glared down at me.

Of course I stood as quickly as possible ready to run when he appeared in front of me and I rammed into his steel like arm falling back to where I was sitting. Just as I was about to let my wings rip through my shirt he put a picture before me and I stared at the two adults and twins. Those twins were Madison and Noah and I was guessing the man and woman were their parents.
