“Are we there yet?”

I don’t know how long its been but it felt like forever. We left the Amethyst Kingdom about 2000 hours ago? Nah, I’m kidding. But honestly, earlier, the view was beautiful from above. Though my eyes were closed, I opened them a bit to take a peek at the view. Amethyst Kingdom was beautiful above. The landscape, the castle, the environment were all beautiful from atop. What made it even more beautiful was the setting of the sun. Orange spreading everywhere.

Now we’re out here, in the middle of nowhere. In the sky.

Nate grunted at me. “Be quiet. You’ve asked that about 50 times! And I’m not exaggerating!”

I pouted behind him. He still gripped onto the dragon, as if he had reins. The thing that annoys me is that the dragon’s wings kept flapping. It scares me that I might get pulled out of the ride. Which made me grip onto Nate’s waist even tighter.

I opened my eyes a bit. We were still in the sky and clouds were at view. I tried to look down but saw nothing. It was dark and the clouds were blocking my view. The only thing that I’ve liked so far is the gust of wind that blows through my hair. It felt nice.

Slowly, fatigue had taken hold of me. I tried staying awake but I felt my eyes heavy. I couldn’t help but let sleep take over me. It’ll be safe, right? I mean, I’ve held my pillow a bunch of times when I sleep so there’s no chance of me releasing Nate. He’s like a pillow. With his stomach full of fats. I nuzzled my head into his back to get into a comfortable position.

“H-hey! Erin! Don’t you dare think—”

But his words droned out of my hearing as sleep had already taken over me.

"Erin, you idiot!"

I felt someone knock my head hard as I slowly opened my eyes. We were still in the sky. Though it was no longer dark.

"Ow," I whined. "What was that for?" I rubbed the spot where Nate had hit.

"So annoying! I actually felt lonely!"

"Weren't you already lonely when you travelled to Amethyst?" I argued.

"Anyway," he pressed on. "We're here, princess."

"What? Seriously?" I shrieked. I still held Nate tight and tried to look hard on my surroundings. "I dont see anything!"

"Use your eyes, not your mouth," he chided. I shivered a bit as I remembered the very words I used on Prince Darren.

Doing as I was told, I squinted even harder. Slowly, the clouds were finally getting out of my view as an image vaguely appeared before me.

I gasped at the colorful sight before me. Diamond Kingdom was there all right. There were crystals and a huge pointy castle right in the middle. The sun reflected the colorful crystals making a beautiful rainbow color shine.  But how..?

"Do you see it?"

I nodded my head. "It's amazing! That's the castle in the middle?"

"Yup. We're home."

Before I could reply, the dragon swooped down with agility. I grabbed onto Nate’s shirt tightly, scared that I might fall off. I felt a strong gush of wind blow at my hair. I held my eyes shut, avoiding any dirt that might enter my eyes. In less than 5 seconds, a loud cheer sounded in the background that almost deafened my ears.

“They’re here!”  chorused a tad bit too many people.

I couldn’t help but open my eyes and see what had made the loud cheer.
