*Alexa*

"How exactly am i supposed to make friends again?" I asked Callie as I checked that my hair was perfect for the umpteenth time.

"Easy. You do nothing. Be a smartass to teachers and basically everyone that wants to take you on as a charity case. Especially Chloe."

"BUT that's gonna make everyone hate you. Or at least they'll claim to hate but deep inside they just need assurance that if they stray from her side over to yours, you'll have them covered." Jeremy said squeezing my hand tightly as he drove like a crazed man to school.

"So basically I make everyone hate me to love me. Can you guys get any more clichéd?"

"Probably not. It's not too late to back out, you know." Jeremy said.

Chase and the others had been dropped off by Andrew but Jeremy had convinced his dad to let him drive us three alone.

"Back out? Are you crazy?! Never." I said dramatically making Callie laugh.

"This is so cool." she said.

"So yeah one more thing. Lunch time." I said. That's very crucial.

"Easy. You're under my wing." Jeremy's said in a duh voice.

"Ok I think I have everything under control. Be flirty but mean. Nice but aloof. And rude."

"Precisely." they echoed as we pulled into the parking lot.

I looked at the impossibly huge school that could probably house Hogwarts (ok teensy exaggeration there but you get the idea) and probably cost a fortune.

The walls were painted grey but there were colorful inscriptions on it giving it elegance if it's possible for a building to have elegance.

My former school was impressive but this is just, "wow." I said out loud.

"Yeah you'll get over it when you realize the number of jerks it holds. Believe me." Callie said as she unlocked her door and got out of the car.

"One more thing. Keep an eye out for my siblings. Please?"

"They're my siblings too Alexa." he said simply before unlocking his door also.

I stepped down and immediately got into character. Cue drum rolls please.

I knew I'd have to talk about my parent's death flippantly but I kept seeing mum's letter in my mind and knew she'd probably be eating popcorn right now.

"And Cheryl?" I asked as we stood by the car waiting for Jeremy to join us.

"Dark girl. Not emo, just a pessimist. She's quite popular but people refuse to admit it cos she and Chloe aren't the best of friends." Callie filled me in and almost as soon as she was done a friend of hers pounced on her and they began squealing.

Jeremy joined me as Callie left with her friend, wishing me good luck and I took a deep breath in.

"Are we really gonna stand here all day cos if we do, I might as well put on some sun screen." I said which made Jeremy laugh.

Mean Me Has Arrived.

I could see people who were milling around the entrance catching up with their friends giving us most of their attention.

"Did I forget to mention I'm quite popular too?" Jeremy whispered to me as we began making our way forward.

Before I could make any sarcastic comment, over a dozen people surrounded us and were chatting with him.

"Way to forget your partying buddy Jer!"

"Had a good holiday?"

"Ready for basketball tryouts? I heard there's this new assistant coach."
