November *5 months later*

 

            “Addison!” Tavi yelled after her when she ran down the hall to her room. She stood to her feet from sitting on the floor in front of the couch and went into Addison’s room to see her playing with her toys.

            “You don’t wanna see what mommy bought you?” Tavi asked as if Addison knew what she was talking about. “I guess I’ll just get you dressed” She sighed.

            She grabbed Addison’s birthday outfit from her closet and gave Addison a bath before putting it on her. Today was Addison’s birthday but she would be spending the day with Shayne and his family. After quarrelling through text messages for a week straight about it Tavi finally just let him have her. Shayne offered Tavi to come but she just wasn’t up for being around people she hasn’t seen in five months. She was simply gonna wait until the next day to enjoy time with her daughter.

            Addison cried while Tavi struggled to do her hair, making it difficult for Tavi and making her anxiety levels go up. She stood up and ran to the bathroom grabbing a pill from the mirror cabinet and popped in her mouth. She ran her hands under the facet and took a sip of water to swallow the pill. When she was done she heard a knock at the door and figured it was Shayne.

            It would be her first time seeing him in five months and it was the longest they went without seeing each other. They’ve decided that Shayne would pick Addison up from daycare on Friday’s and drop her off at daycare on Monday’s where Tavi would pick her up and keep her for the week. She liked the arrangement and had no problems with it and apparently neither did he.

            She opened the door to see Shayne’s cold, impassive face that he always had on. “Hey” She greeted him.

            He nodded at her and she stepped to the side letting him in. “Why she crying?”

            “Because she had to get her hair done” Tavi replied as they walked into the living room. Addison immediately ran over to Shayne and he picked her up making her stop crying.

            “I’m glad you finally let me see where you live?” Shayne commented.

            Tavi has never invited Shayne over or let him see where she was living. She felt bad for not telling him but in the same token he’s never asked.

            “Yeah me too” She replied blandly picking up the toys that were scattered around the condominium. “Can you drop her off tomorrow afternoon?” She asked once she was done.

            “Yeah” He nodded helping Addison put on her jacket to protect her from the fall weather.

            Tavi walked Shayne and Addison to the door so that she could say her goodbyes. She was still a little bummed that she couldn’t spend the day with Addison but she was about to make the best of it. It was Friday and she didn’t have any classes but she did have end of the semester exams that she had to study for so she decided that she’ll spend the day at the library.
