Empower the Powerless

As I look around me.

This world needs to change.

People killing one another.

No one taking the blame.

Love is a thing of the past.

My body is imprisoned.

Hate has overcome all.

A peaceful world is just a vision.

I switch the evening news on.

All I see is violence.

I rise from the fire like a Phoenix.

My heart is very much defiant.

Governments are colonising landscapes.

Lies are made to believe.

Look at the innocents massacred.

Be the change in the world you want to see.

What the kids see on the news.

It will all lead to imitation.

They can try to kill the activists.

But we are ready to die for liberation.

You can take the side of injustice.

I will fight for the ones who are oppressed.

You can Empower the Power-full.

I will Empower the Power-less.
