(Y/N)'s P.OV

It's Been nearly a year since I last saw my best friend Niall and I've missed him so much I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to see him. He comes back later today, there's so much I need to tell him. It's been so long! So much has happened this past year but things just haven’t been the same without him. Getting ready to go and see him I can't seem to stop thinking about what to tell him first when I see him but at the same time I'm also a little nervous... what do you say to someone you haven’t seen in a year?

Once ready I grab my keys, phone and purse I rush out the door and make my way towards the airport. The drive there seems to take forever but it's the wait when I finally get to the meeting point that's really agonising. It gives me time to think, and time for my nerves to grow. What if he thinks I've changed too much? What if he's not the same person he was a year ago?

The moment I see a familiar blonde walk around the corner the questions running though my mind seem to dissolve. A smile immediately appears on my face when his eyes meet mine. He gives me a little wave and quickens his pace. A small laugh escapes my mouth as I run to meet him in the middle, practically pouncing on him.

"(Y/N)," he says as his arms quickly wrap around my waist.

"Ni," I pull back and smile at him. "I've missed you." I state, truthfully.

"I've missed you too; things haven’t the same with my best friend around all the time."

"Yeah? What the boys wouldn’t watch the girly movies you love with you?"

"Not always although Liam did learn to love Pitch Perfect." He laughs.

"I learned to what now?" Liam asks coming up behind Niall with the rest of the boys.

Niall and I laugh and after saying hello to each of the boys we make our way out of the airport. Once outside, and after a weird and wonderful conversation, Niall and I say goodbye to the boys and make our way back to my place. It feels so weird to have Niall back but at the same time it's almost as if he never left. When we walk through my front door the first thing Niall does is laugh.

"Wow this place really hasn’t changed has it? Although wait..." He picks up a small white photo frame that holds my favourite picture. "This is new."

I let out a small nervous laugh and take the photo from him. Although my favourite photo it's not the first thing I wanted Niall to notice when he came back. It's an old photo, a really old one actually, of the two of us at one of his many summer barbeques.

"Yeah, well anyway... welcome back." I smile, dramatically spreading my arms.

It doesn’t take him long to make himself at home and get comfy on my sofa. I shake my head at him and join him, settling comfortably into his arms.

"You know I've really missed this (Y/N), you know; you, me... this sofa." I laugh.

"Yeah, me too. Things haven’t really been the same around here since you left. They've been quieter, cleaner and I've had food in my fridge for once." He smiles and glances down.

"You really haven’t changed much though have you?"

"I don't know. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" I look to the side, slightly surprised at how close we're actually sitting. Another small nervous laugh falls from my lips as Niall's eyes meet mine. His eyes momentarily drop to my lips before reconnecting with my own eyes. Mimicking his actions I notice a small smirk fl(Y/N) onto his lips for just a second. I give him a small confused look and before I have time to realise what's going on, Niall gently places his lips upon mine. My eyes automatically close and my hand finds its way to the back of his neck, slowly moving my fingertips through the bottom of his hair. We stay like that for a few moments before pulling away, still staying close.

Suddenly the reality of the situation dawns on me and I create more space between the two of us, awkwardly standing from the sofa and tucking a stay piece of hair behind my ear.

"I err... I just gotta go get something. I'll... Em... I'll be right back..." I mutter, not knowing what to say.

I practically run out of the room and into the hallway, leaning against the wall and taking a deep breath. Did that really just happen? I bite my bottom lip and smile, running a hand thorough my hair.

"(Y/N)?" Niall nearly walks past me "Hey, you okay?"

"Yeah, I just..." I pause, not really knowing what to say.

"Don't, look I just... this past year, it's given me time to think about things. A lot actually and well, I've really missed you and I kinda realised..."

"Ni, it's okay. I get it, I... well, I missed you too." I say, taking a step closer to him.

"Yeah?" He asks, also taking a small step.

I nod, smiling and placing my hand on the side of his face. We both smile and he places his lips onto mine for the second time tonight. His hand works its way up to the back of my head, pulling my face even closer to his deepening the kiss. Without pulling away I begin to laugh.

"This is crazy." I laugh, my lips still hovering over his.

"I know. You know what's going to be even crazier?" I shake my head. "When I ask you to go out with me?"

I smile, "I'd love to." I say before once again connecting our lips, leaving them there to linger.
