Matchstick

Poison drenched lips shimmer

Aching for just one last goodbye

A simple little memento, blessed

In twilight truths and alibis

Forever just a strike away

The mixture, lead and vengeance

A dress of lace and eyes of flame

The candles keeping vigil

In moments of bitter love and loss

His life was not, but this

A broken heart and a matchstick

From sunset-hued eternal bliss
