Chapter 11

It had been three days since I had sent my email to Cameron, and he hadn’t responded. I was beginning to wonder what I did because I wasn’t really that mean in the email. Then I would tell myself that he was just taking time to reply because he didn’t want to upset me anymore. Maybe he wanted to get the email perfect as to explaining to me that he knew he was wrong in failing to tell me that Adrian was his brother. To soon though my anger would get the best of me and I would dismiss that stupid possibility. God he was so irritating

Something else that had me on edge as well is that Adrian wasn’t answering his house phone. I don’t know what I did wrong there, I mean it felt like our goodbye was good; and he even said he was going to fight for me so why wasn’t he talking to me either.

Three days ago I was wishing that this had never happened to me. Wishing that these two men hadn’t walked into my life and made a mess of it. But now that Cameron and Adrian weren’t talking to me I missed them terribly. I was getting on my email every hour hoping that there was a message from Cameron, and I had called Adrian’s house a couple times only to get the answering machine. To put it simply they were avoiding me.

It was Monday morning and I was going through my normal routine of getting ready for school. What was I going to say to Adrian? This question had come across my mind several times this weekend and I still hadn’t come up with a solution. Do I yell at him for ignoring me, or do I question him about why his brother hasn’t emailed me yet?

I headed downstairs and started making myself a quick breakfast, which ended up being a bowl of cereal. I was getting ready to head upstairs when the doorbell rang. I ran down the few steps I had climbed and pulled open the door.

I was shocked by who was standing there, he hadn’t bother to call me back even after I left messages and here he was standing at my front door. “Adrian, what are you doing here?” I asked.

“I came to give you a ride to school Elle?” he said with a questioning tone.

“So, why haven’t you returned any of my calls all weekend? Better yet why hasn’t your brother returned my email?” I said. I paused for a breath before I started up again. “I mean I thought you guys were fighting each other for me? Well if you are it sure doesn’t feel like it because neither one of you have bothered to even get a hold of me this weekend. You ignored my every attempt and left me here with my mind going in fifty freaking directions trying to figure out what I did wrong.” I said. Well I guess this answers my previous question about what I was going to say to Adrian.

“Listen Elle, I’m sorry.” He started before I interrupted.

“What do you mean you’re sorry, I just don’t understand why you have been avoiding me all weekend? It’s like I came down with the plaque or something because you both just quit talking to me.” I yelled. I was so frustrated.

“I know Elle, listen I really am sorry just something came up.” He said quietly.
