Anna showed me around the garden before we decided a spot to sit. Frankly, I was in a rush mood to hear out the story, old tales always excited me there was some magic to them, undiscovered mysteries and most importantly hope. I hardly cared, whether  they were myths or true, but my excitement was high after all I wanted to know what turned a beautiful woman into a peacock, especially that  one who ever she was or is I really wanted to know her story.

“ Here, this is fine,” I said in speed up tone sitting down on the grass. I sat down, staring up at Anna, who was twistingthe side of her apron with nervous fingers.

“What, you want to sit someplace else?”  I asked looking around

“Lady Minz, you are kind, but a servant and a Lady can not sit on the same levelled ground. And you should not sit on bare grass without a picnic blanket or something at least. ” Anna said with a weak uncomfortable smile.

“ Says who?” I frowned and check the grass is wasn’t wet nor had any dirt to ruin my dress, “I don’t know about you Anna, but I heard all humans were made out of soil, clay whatever and most of us going to get buried in it so, I don’t mind sitting on the ground. As far, the servant and Lord theory go if I switch my clothes with you who could tell who is who? Only deeds and dignity differ people from one another and give a superiority over one another that’s what I believe in. Moreover, you are playing an elf, aren’t they the supernatural ones?” I winked

Anna smiled, “ Well, at least let me arrange some tea and freshly baked muffins for you. You hardly eat, supernatural Lords have more energy than ordinary men” gazing at my bracelet she hinted. I rolled my eyes, “ Just sit ” I covered my bracelet by pulling my sleeve down.

“Alright, are you one hard Lady to convince” she sat down opposite to me finally.

“Well, the peacock story is an old one, some say she has been like this for more than 200 years some say less. It all began in an old village which lay between two guarding mountains and a sweet water river that nourished and sustained  the village of Delfwyn...”

Village of Delfwyn was all shades of green and fragrant of Delfwyn was of blue roses which distinguished the village from all other villages. The two mountains guarded the small beautiful village from all attacks and enemies. It was a common believe that these two mountains had eyes and were watchful of all happening in and around the village. The river nourished the whole village with its sweet and cool water. Children laugh and smiling citizen were famous for their prosperity. It was heartily believed Delfwyn was loved by the heavens above

Like every other normal day, mothers were taking their children to teaching centers as the boys were still yawning as the girls hurried to their school. Shopkeepers were opening their shops. One shop in particular was famous in the village the miller’s shop, he was a small height, fat and bald old man with few white hairs left on the sides of his head. He had the finest grains and flour. He use to run his shop with his daughter.

“Papa, how many times I have told you not to overwork yourself,” Ruby lifting the flour bag from her father’s shoulder as her twin brothers who were almost 2 now were busy striking each other with their wooden swords cheeks covered in flour.

“ A miller’s got to do what a miller's got to do,” said the old miller laughing, as Ruby arranged a wooden chair for her loving father

“Papa, I asked you to take me along,” miller’s daughter patting her father’s head with her white apron
