A Vampire Dream
" Nathaniel", he said automatically,
" and you are?" I thought about it before giving him a straight answer.
" Becca, you're new", I said matter-of-factly. " How did you know?", he asked surprised. " It's a small town", I sighed. I looked up at the sky which was dark and stormy. He tried to start the car but the engine stalled. I managed to start the car and I drove home after a long argument. I dropped him off in fit of the cemetery. It seemed weird to me that he would want to the cemetery. It was full of graves and misery.
He was hot and he was funny but something seemed kinda off about him but not in a bad way just a mysterious way. I was just going toward my house which was twenty minutes away from town when my tires went flat. I was too far from home and town to walk. I always hate where our house was mostly because Asshole Number One Johnny Lexis lived across the street. I sat in my truck from a while before getting out and checking the tires. Then were all ruined! I cursed and screamed stomping around like a five year old. I went back into my car and turned on my phone. " Great no freaking cell service", I yelled to no one in particular. I turned on my IPod and listened to music for awhile. It was dark and I had fallen asleep when heard a car horn. I knew who it was, Johnny home from his part time job, I stuck Mugabe out the door and fingered him. " Now now so you want a ride home or not Becca cause I could just keep driving", he said patiently.
For a moment I considered sleeping in my car but I knew my parents who kill me if they woke up and I was missing, " What's the catch?", I asked. " You have to go with me to Mike's party", he said smugly. " Screw that I'll sleep in my car", I said with a laugh. I wondered why momentarily Johnny would want to take me to a party. Then I shook my head and decided I didn't care. " Fine I'm sure your father will be okay with finding you parked in the middle the road in the morning. I growled as I jumped out of my car and stomped over to his Mercedes. It was a nice car, leather seats, hot rod red if only it were owned by someone who wasn't a complete asswipe. I waited by the door for him to open it. He took his time a out it too walking back to the car then putting on his seatbelt then finally opening the door for me.
I got in and put my headphones in. I was as relaxed as I could be sitting next to my enemy. He pulled out my headphones suddenly. " Ow fuck that hurt", I complained. " Now about the party it starts in an hour so I take you home, you tell your parent you are going to a party", he commanded.
" What about my outfit?", I said.
" Grab something on the way you don't any party clothes trust me", he said with an evil grin. I jumped out and ran inside. " Mom I am going to a party I'll be home by one okay", I yelled before I had second thoughts. " Yah", my mom giggled clapping her hands. My mom hates that I'm so anti social so me going to a party was a dream come true. " See ya", I said running out the door purse in hand. I got back into Johnny's car unwillingly. He drove to the local shopping mall. We went to the juniors dresses a foreign land to me. He waited well I searched for an outfit. I decided that I was going to prove Johnny wrong I was going to show up at that party in a kick dress. I found three outfits. A short sleeveless black dress that showed off my curves, a pale pink cocktail dress with a pink lace cover and a tight red leather shirt with a zipper and black leather skirt shorter than any I owned. I decided on the last one. It was trashy but it was the best partying outfit of the three. I bought them all along with a diamond neckalace with studs and black stilettos. I got dressed and went out to show off. I got into Johnny's car where he was sitting listening to MY IPod. " Hey leave my IPod alone", I snarled. He looked at me and took a double take. I knew exactly what he was seeing: Becca the bookworm with her platinum blonde hair up I a high ponytail, blush on her cheeks, red lipstick on and a outfit suitable for a party. He didn't say anything as we drove to Mike's house. I got out and headed for the house leaving Johnny to lock the car. He caught up and grabbed my hand, " don't embarrass me". " I won't think of it", I said with an evil glint in my eye. He brought out the worst in this bookworm. I strolled in and all eyes turned towards me. I waved and headed toward the punch which I knew had alcohol in it but I didn't care. I would need it if I was to survive the night.
