When once I closed my eyes I saw,
stretched before me forever,
A rich and beautiful map of green,
and blue, ripe with my own desire,
to explore and seek.
I flew in farther and on walking,
on either side of a sapphire river,
saw dancing emerald trees.
And a copper sun became liquid,
beyond the horizon.
I lay there happily for hours,
neither time nor place did I need.
Instead as I lay on cotton grass,
the colors heightened and fell,
It could not last.
When waking I tried to catch,
each detail of the memory.
But they ran through my fingers,
And I never could savor them again,
like silver fumes.
