Re-Cap of Chapter 14: Red Letters

“CARIE? WHERE ARE YOU?”

“In here!” I scrambled up to unlock the door and let him in, before he could even ask me what was wrong, I pointed towards the window and showed him the letter. I watched as he scrambled to take a look at the note on the window and then collect the letter.

“Carmela. We need to figure out who is doing this to you.” I could feel myself numbly nod my head before climbing back on the bed.

“Alright, Carmela I want you to think about who could possibly want to hurt you.”

Chapter 15: Ying and Yang

Walking down the school hallways was a strange feeling. I wasn’t thrilled to be back, but I wasn’t depressed to be at school either. I was in the middle. Especially with all the things happening around me these couple days I haven’t gotten a chance to practice my guitar or my music! Considering that I wanted to go to Juilliard it was going to be difficult for me to get in with my lack of practice and with the upcoming application video.

Deciding that I needed a moment to go practice, I quickly gave Tyler a goodbye kiss and walked to the music room. Entering the music room, I couldn’t help, but inhale the smell of rosewood and mahogany, and the faint odor of metal. Grabbing my guitar, I plucked a few strings, familiarizing myself with the symphony each of the 6 strings made with each other. I began to finger-pick the strings as I started to play a song.

“Merrily we fall out of line, out of line

I’d fall anywhere with you, I’m by your side

Swinging the rain, humming melodies

We’re not going anywhere until we freeze

I’m not afraid, anymore

I’m not afraid

Forever is a long time

But I wouldn’t mind spending it by your side”

I had become so engrossed into the song, that I didn’t even notice the faint sound of clapping in the background. I looked up to see Tyler leaning against the door frame, a sexy smirk on his lips, and clapping.
