The story of us
starts right now, here in Paris
When I first met you
you were a brilliant pianist
Playing in the night
softly for just one to hear
yet it feels alright
Met you for the second time
somewhere on the road
it was raining heavily
Without a brolly
you saw me running in the rain
feeling cold and wet
You stopped your car beside me
saved me from the rain
and you drove me home that day
Made me wonder struck
left me thinking at the bay
about how we met
Saved a damsel in distress
meeting you countless times
This time you asked a question
on that tranquil night
I thought you would never ask
it happened that night
If I would be your only
I smiled and said yes
Today was a fairytale
I had found my prince
And you have found your princess
Days, months, years had passed
When one day you dropped one knee
and took out a ring
asking if I'll marry you
I laughed and said yes
The prince had finally asked
after all these years
and the princess accepted
him and both of us
lived happily ever after
Thinking of the days
fate has a sense of humour
Paired up two strangers
became a pair of lovers
Remember you said:
you will never let me go
Its our love story
will continue in Paris
Remember that night
you played a love song softly
Just for one to hear
and that was made just for me
I'll never forget
for its written by a man
by my loving prince
About the poem:
The idea came from the song "Today was a fairytale" by Taylor Swift. This poem was planned to be a 'story' with a happy ending just like the stereotypical fairytale. Paris was selected as the location as it is a place of romance. Behind this was days of word searching, looking for the right words to fit the poem perfectly.
No infringement intended. Ideas are solely created myself.
