My heart pounded in my chest as he rounded the corner. I line up the tip of my gun to his head. How I got into the situation of killing the only man I ever loved's father. I don't know. All I know is I can't do it. I can't hurt the my love's father. Because if I kill him I kill every chance that I ever had for him to love me. Being a super hero always comes with consiquences. Ones that I can't seem to get past even if it does save a whole country. But I'm getting ahead of myself. It didn't start out this way. I started out as any normal teenager. So let's start from junior year.
"mom!" I shouted through the long hallway. "where are my lucky basketball shorts?" I ask frantically searching through my laundry bin. My red curly hair gets thrown up into a messy ponytail. I run down stairs to see mom holding my lucky light blue basketball shorts. I sigh grabbing for them but she pulls them away.
"you can wear them tomorrow! It's your first day of school! Wear these!" my mom says throwing me a pair of nice jean shorts and a white long sleeved shirt with lace in the back.
"mom! That's way to fancy!" I whine. She gives me 'the look' so I stomp upstairs in defeat and change into the fancy clothing. I throw on my scruffy old converse before grabbing my black book bag with a neon stripe and walking out the door with my skateboard. I skateboard down the long grey sidewalks before bumping into someone.
"oof. Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" I say to the blonde haired boy on the ground. I help him up and his blue eyes stair into mine. When people look in my eyes they always seem obligated to tell the truth to me. It kind of freaks me out a little bit.
"you have very.....greeen! Eyes." the boys says punctuating green. My face turns a light shade of red before I get back on my skateboard.
"hi I'm Taylor!" I say sticking my hand out for him to shake. He stares at my hand for a second before placing his firmly inside of mine.
"I'm Ryan." he says flashing me the pair of whitest teeth I have ever seen they possibly could have blinded me! "so....see you around?" he asks turning to walk away.
"sure" I say speeding away on my skateboard. When I get to school my curly bangs are are no longer brushed to the side but pushed everywhere across my face. I shove them back over and walk up to my best friend, Sierra. Her blonde hair stops right at her chin but she still attempts at putting it up everyday.
"hey!" I say giving her my best smile. "did your mom force you into that?" I ask eyeing her light blue sundress. She sighs rolling her eyes.
"you know I'd be wearing my lucky shorts just like you" she says slightly irritated with her mom. I chuckle lightly before walking into the school to get my schedule that is taped to the wall.
"who the hell is that?" Sierra says her jaw slightly dropped. Her sea green eyes bulge out pointed towards something, or someone spectacular I'd guess. I turn in the direction shes looking only to see the boy I accidentally pushed down this morning. All the girls seem to be gaping at him and I can tell he's enjoying the attention. I roll my eyes at the boy. He acted so different when we were alone. Less conceited I guess.
"oh that's just Ryan." I say to her still watching him as he smiles warmly getting all the girls hopes up and then passing them as if they are nothing to bother with. For some reason that annoys me.
"JUST Ryan? He is hot! With a Capitol HOT!" she says giggling slightly as he makes his way towards us. He meets eye contact with me and instantly seems drawn over towards us. All the girls frown at me.
"hey Taylor!" he says smiling at me. I scoff and roll my eyes. "hey I'm Ryan and you are?" he asks extending his hand towards Sierra.
"totally available!" she shrieks eyes bright. This makes me burst out into a fit of giggles. The look on Ryan's face after she said that? Priceless! He was like THE KING of awkward at that second.
"errr. Aight ladies. Well I have to get to Ms. Henderson for Science. Any chance you know where that is?" he says giving us a dazzling smile.
"yeah! We have that class too!" Sierra says. I roll my eyes at her. She pulls his hand and leads him to the class. He looks back at me with pleading eyes. I laugh and shout out to Sierra!
"Sierra! Wait for me!" I say winking at him. She stops in her tracks and I walk up alongside Ryan lnkjng his arm in mine. For some reason I feel butterflies rape my stomach but when I look at Ryan I don't feel attached at all. Then I realize it's because Ms. Henderson hates me. Holy fudge nuts! I totally forgot the prank we pulled on her! Sierra and I put chewed up gum all over her chair because she made my older sister cry when she told her that Alec (a boy she was flirting with) did not find her attractive. But now they have been dating for two year! She is in her second year of college and Alec is her fiancé the plan on getting married after she gets out of college.
