In a taxi."So," I say in a low voice facing the window. I wonder when Rayden will tell me about this challenge thing for alphas to become an actual alpha. I asked him twice already if there was something that he needed to tell me, but he'd never answer fully. My last resort was to ask mom but she was too busy trying to contact Robin, who is now staying South America and ignoring her. I think she's more angry with Vincent now that he's in France without her but hey what can you do. Dad, though, found out what answer I was seeking but wouldn't tell me either! Sometimes I really hate Alpha "code" or whatever. We're not in a sorority dammit!
"So." Rayden says back, mindlessly. He's sitting opposite of me in the taxi and, I don't know why, has been doing that a lot lately. I get frustrated. "SO!" I shout this time.
Rayden has an awkward look, brow raised. "S-so?" he says nervously. And I get why, its my hormones that have seemed to run wild lately. "What are we doing in Canada-besides claiming your title?" Rayden glances at me. "Um, that's it..."
By his eyes wandering and breath a little 'too' calm, I know that he's lying. Oh and one more thing-the thing that sets off his LIE radar. "Yeah." He says as if on cue. Rayden always pushes a 'yeah' after a lie. "Are you sure?" I say this time facing him. I stare him past his green eyes and deep into his soul. My thoughts, determined but expression light. I bit my bottom lip innocently. Perfect. "Yeah," he fake coughs. "So we're not going ANYWHERE else?"
Rayden shakes his head looking out of the window. He must not trust his own words-his voice anymore. This lie must be... mangus! Excite initiate a new plan. Rayden taps the knee of his jeans seriously, but I catch his hand and entwine his fingers in mine. "Great." I whisper scooting until I'm next to him, my body pressing his. No spaces. I make sure that he can't move either. Though I'm playing a scheme I find myself undyingly attracted to his body warmth. I lay my head in his warm neck. "Because," I say seductively "I don't think that I'll be able to wait until we get to the hotel." I make sure the last word is said butterlike just to add more guilt. Or desire. "Rayden?"
Rayden tries to inch away but I only grab his other hand and quickly lock it in mine. This time with an evil smile. "What's wrong?" I ask leaning my head so that it's directly in front of his. Poor Rayden. I can feel his pulse like a wild horse! Or, in this case, panther. My lips capture his and hands unknowingly travel to underneath his American eagle shirt and then the rim of his pants, skimming the bare skin lightly. Just enough to make a light fluttery feeling. But my mind was so gone that I hadn't realized the driver was still in the car until he coughed.
I break the kiss for a short second. "Rayden." I kiss him. "You." kiss. "Wouldn't.." kiss. "Be lying." kiss. "would you?" Raydens hesitant, dizzy, and confused. I have to try hard not to giggle at his expression. Perfect. Now maybe he'll tell...my eyes divert to a bulge in his pants. Shit! I close my eyes and sigh. Just great, I remember, it's near a full freaking moon! How could I not have known?!
When I open my eyes Rayden is no longer confused but anxious looking-and staring at me like a panther to its prey. Double shit! This time Rayden grabs my hands but pushes flat to the backseat. I land with a thud and a short bounce. His smile, mischievous. Rayden growls.
