Into The Blue " Reminiscence "

spinner.gif

I look deeply into her narrow hazel eyes, they're a light color of honey, sweet and warm, it reminded you of those warm summer days, beneath the corn field, and under the warm sun, I envied her for those, because I always knew something was frightening about mine, a crazy dark blue, that tells a terrifying story even I never knew, her golden curls are on the loose, dancing slowly to the wind, she reminded me of someone...

"What?"

I look at her and pretended I didn't understand what she meant. "You're staring at me again."

"Sorry, I was just..."

"Daydreaming, yeah I know. Are you okay? you seemed kind of off lately!"

"I am not sleeping well, actually I am not sleeping at all."

"Is it that dream again?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure its not just a dream, I mean it could be a..."

She just stopped at the last word, she knew me very well. She knew I don't like to talk about my vanished memories, nor my unseen past. She understood it, she always does, considering the fact that among the two of us, she's the one who suffered the most.

I first met her on my first day in the foster house. She was this blond scared little girl who lost both her parents in a fire, she had so many horrible scenes carved in her memory, and all I had was a deep void in mine, somehow she made me feel grateful. I rather hear nothing but silence in my dreams, than hear the screams of my dying parents.

I used to hear her scream every night, yelling for her parents, desperately trying to save them, everybody else would stare at her in terror, even the iron in our cold grey orphan beds shivered from the horror. She was adopted two days after I was, and in the same town I always thought that it was some strike of luck that the universe decided to award us, in return of what we had, or never had. Until her adoptive mother packed her things and left her with a father she barely knew.

It didn't get to Sienna that much,She was always closer to the father than to the mother, she had her issues, like she would say. She writes to her a couple of times a year, on her birthday, and on Christmas, to ask about her dad, but that was it, since then it's been just Sienna and M. Summers alone in that big suburban house on the other side of the bridge.

"It's not a memory, memories are never that clear Sienna, no one's are, and especially not mine."

I finally answered her, the gateway of our high school is now in plain sight.

"Well here we are, your first day at school as a seventeen years old." She said making way too much effort to cover up her desire to quickly change the subject.

She pulled a fast parking in front of Tia Anderson's car, technically stealing her parking spot. To each of us our daily little pleasures, getting on Tia's nerves was Sienna's favorite one of the day. I heard Tia scream out of her car.

"You have to be kidding me!" her high pitched voice filled the horizon.

Sienna waves at her as we walk out of the car to the school, leaving her with a huge urge to smash her car right into Sienna's.

"Someday, she will throw a punch on your smirk face."

"And I am still waiting for that day." She said in a confidence that for some reason made me laugh.

Tia is our classmate, she was the coolest geek on school, with her red hair in pigtails and her massive square glasses, she walked the school hallways like a queen. Actually she was a tech queen, she is the straight. A science and physics student, there was a rumor that she has an identical photographic memory, bottom of line the girl is genius, weird corkey, but genius, and Sienna loved to mess with her, in a absolutely non harmful way, almost...

As we walk toward our first class of the day, I see him, Noah fields, he's my best friends, everybody would joke about how close we are, you find us curled up under some stairs, telling each other things we would never tell anybody else, beside Vincent and Sienna, he is the only person in the world who I could open up to, but with him it's different, to him I can open up completely to, we know each other like the back of our hands, and the girls would always be jealous of me, he is by far the cutest boy in school, with his soft brown hair falling on his face, his emerald green eyes, looking into them made me feel warm, and safe, they always reminded me of Sienna's, as he come closer to us, he says hey, and reaches slowly to kiss Sienna.
