Chapter One

τοξότης     Archer's POV

Sweat poured down my face as I ran, my legs pumping, hearing each footstep before feeling it. The bodies of my Tress flew by, Leslie, Charlie, Delta, Bailey, Maria, Jeremy, Jaycee, Liam, Kailee, Jackson, Kiyra, Shirly, Dakota, Leana, Charlotte, Jacob, Andy, Luke, Bridgette, Holly, Bella, Danielle, Jason. But I didn't stop, not even for Jaycee.

If I didn't get there before him, it would all be a watse and we will have failed. Thinking of all my deceased companioins, my legs stretched as far as they could and my breath rasped through my lungs. Even with my super speed, the tunnel seemed impossibly long.

At last I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Please don't let him be there, please, please, please... Up ahead I can see a blur or is that Ha- *Beep* *Beep* *Be-

A groan drags out through my chest as I slam my hand down on the alarm clock. I sit up, wiping the sleep from my eyes. Monday,  my favorite day of the week, note the sarcasm.

I had thirty minutes before Thresa, our house cleaner came through and cursed me out in Dutch for not making my bed.

     ^Archer, get up.^ I'm going, I'm going.

Oh yeah, might I mention the voice in my head... Turns out he's as fluent in sarcasm as I am.

I lean against the sink in the small hall bathroom and gaze at the kid infront of me. He has long, slightly spikey black hair and green eyes. I envy my brother Jordan with his Bieber style blond hair and blue eyes. But then again what am I saying? I'm smarter, stronger, and certainly faster than him. Actually, my speediness is pretty much the only thing I like about myself. Although it's not like I have super speed or anything.

Unconsciously, I finger the ancient wooden amulet on an equally ancient leather cord. The small disk has small ingraving written in greek:   Άλφα Tress τρεις  I've actually considered getting rid of it more than once but- ^Don't even think about it.^ Well, that happens.

I sigh and throw on my jeans, a black t-shirt, a black jacket, the required red tie and some red Chucks.

"Archer, nu maak je bed!" Thresa! Hopping out the window, I land on the thick oak branch and quickly sramble down the tree and run for the school.

Just as I'm rounding the corner of the building, a gloved hand clamps over my mouth. Immediatly I spin and head-butt some hooded guy in the stomache before delivering a round-house kick to his temple. Two more guys hopped out of a white van and head towards me. I take one down by slinging my back pack at him, and luckily, the textbooks knock him out.

^Good thing you got all that math work over the weekend.^ How about something helpful?

^Duck?^ I hit the deck as the man aims a kick at my stomache, then I swipe his feet out from under him with my legs. Suddenly, a tererible smelling cloth is pressed to my face and it all goes black.

I kind of had fun writing this chapter. Anywho, this chapter is dedicated to @JennicaNielson for her support!
