CHAPTER 48: NO WAY (Edwards POV) 

"Should we hunt tonight love?" I asked my Bella, whilst she nestled into my chest, we were alone for the first time in what felt like day's and I was cherishing every moment of it whilst trying to take my mind off of Jacob's thought's of the past few day's. It wasn't an easy task though. If I slept then I was sure that this would have been my worst nightmare.  

"If you like" my angel murmured happily as she cuddled up further into my chest. Bella obviously heard the car the same time as I did, as she quickly moved herself from my lap and settled down next to me just in time for the door to open and for my daughter to walk in, gripping hand's with Jacob. I tried my best to block out his thought's and instead concentrated on breathing in Bella's scent as she sat next to me,  

"Good movie?" Bella called out to them,  

"Yes Mom, it was great" Ness giggled, still holding Jacob's hand tightly. As hard as I tried, I couldn't completely block out Jacob's thought's, he remembered sitting in the local park with my little girl ... laying in the grass together ... kissing. I tried my hardest not to let the low growl erupting in my chest, but I must have failed as Bella immediately turned to face me, looking rather annoyed,  

"What's wrong now?" she hissed at me 

"Nothing Bella" I hissed back,  

"Leave them be" she hissed "would you rather she was miserable?" 

"Of course not" I sighed, flinching slightly to myself as she turned back around to face the couple and began asking them if they were hungry. At least, I think that's what she was saying. I was too distracted once more, by Jacob's thought's. 'Edward, we gotta talk man" he thought, still looking at my little girl. The cheek of it! He didn't even have the decency to address me himself!  

I knew what it was he wanted to talk to me about. And I knew I wasn't going to allow it. I was very grateful to Jake though, somehow he had done the impossible and cheered up Renesmee. I had no idea how. But he had. That didn't mean I was going to agree to his ludicrous idea though! Ness was still my little girl after all, she was still the tiny baby I had held in my arm's not even 7 year's ago. And no amount of Jacob's pleading was going to change that.  

Bella began moving forward in her seat, she was about to go and cook for them, I saw my opportunity. I tightened my arm's around her as she went to move and hissed quickly in her ear; 

"Take her into the kitchen with you" Bella looked between me and our daughter as she slowly asked Ness to help her in the kitchen. After a slight reluctance, she finally gave in and followed her Mom out to the kitchen. I waited until I knew Renesmee was out of ear shot before turning back to face the man in front of me,  

"Jacob, I know what you want, but... NO" I flinched at the thought of what he was asking of me. 

"I love her Edward, you know I do" he sighed shaking his head. 

"It's not going to happen Jake, I'll never agree to it" I spat 

"It will happen either way, but I wanted to do the gentlemanly thing and run it past you first." he insisted 

"No" I almost yelled, did he really think I'd ever agree to this? 

"Edward, I love her. I want to do thing's the right way" Jacob pleaded 

"I'll never agree to this. And I will stop it" I insisted "You can't do this without my agreement. She's too young" 

"Edward, be fair" he sighed, looking up from the floor to look me in the face "You know how I feel about her. Is it so wrong that I want to take thing's further?"
