Liam had his muscular arm wrapped around Laura as they both made their way back from the doctor’s office.

Laura had been ill for quite a while, so Liam chauffeured her to the doctor’s to find out that she had the flu.

It wasn’t that severe, thankfully, but Laura was still miserable.

Liam helped her onto the sofa.

“Thank you.” She replied shakily.

“Is there anything I can get you, love?” He asked gently. “Do you want a blanket or something?”

Laura shook her head as she pulled the blanket off of the back of the couch and draped it over herself. “I don’t want to be a bother to you, Liam.”

“Seriously, love.” He said walking into the kitchen. “You’re not a bother whatsoever. If you don’t tell me what you would like, I’m just going to bring you everything you could possibly want when you’re sick.”

Laura laughed as much as she could and shivered into her blanket. She didn’t say a word. She didn’t want to bother Liam at all. He had already done so much for her, between putting up with her sneezing, coughing and blowing her nose 24/7 along with dragging her to the doctor and back.

“Fine.” Liam said with a slightly smug look on his face, walking into his room.

A minute later he walked out carrying his pillows and his huge dark blue comforter. “Sit up,” He instructed gently as he tucked one of his pillows behind her back.

He took the thin knitted blanket off of her and replaced it with his comforter.

“Liam, you’re crazy.” She smiled as she cuddled into the blanket. It smelled like him and it was extremely comfortable.

He just smiled softly and walked away into the kitchen

Laura clicked on the television, surfing around not finding anything interesting, but basically listening to Liam clunking around in the kitchen.

“Here, love.” He said walking out with a glass of water and a small cup full of a reddish liquid. “Take this flu syrup.”

Laura sat up weakly and did just as he asked and handed it back to him.

“Seriously, Liam.” She said after taking a sip of water to rid the taste of the medicine from her mouth. “You don’t need to do this.”

“Hush.” He said flashing his charming smile and walking back into the kitchen.

He emerged a few minutes later with a cup of tea and a huge smile on his face.

Laura rolled her eyes and sat up, making a space for Liam to sit next to her.

He curled up under the blankets next to her, picking up the DVD remote and turning the player on.

“What movie’s in there?” Laura asked before taking a sip of her tea and resting her head on Liam’s shoulder.

Liam just smiled a big goofy smile as the opening music for Toy Story started playing through the speakers.

Before they were even halfway through the movie, the side effects from the medicine ended up kicking in and Laura was asleep on Liam’s shoulder.

She woke up chilly, in Liam’s arms as he carried her bridal-style back to his room.

“I’m just taking you back to my room so you’re more comfortable.” He whispered. “You can go back to sleep.”

He set her down and she immediately curled up in the same blankets and pillows that she was curled up on before, which had magically appeared.

As soon as he walked away, leaving the door only cracked open, she was wide awake and couldn’t go back to sleep.

Laura didn’t want to move though. She still didn’t feel good despite the medicine and she felt too weak to get back up.

She closed her eyes hoping that the sickness would go away as she did it, but instead she heard Liam in the living room playing his guitar.

She had recognized the song immediately.

It was a song by Ed Sheeran that Liam had declared “their song” .

See, I could do without a tan on my left hand

Where my forefinger meets my knuckle

And I should run you a hot bath

And fill it up with bubbles…

Cause maybe you’re loveable

And maybe you’re my snowflake…”

“Liam?” Laura called quietly after listening to him play his favorite part a few times over again.

The guitar playing stopped and a few seconds later, he popped his head in through the door.

“Yes, love?” He said kindly.

“Will you lay down with me?” She asked, her eyes just barely open.

Liam walked in and shut the door. “Of course, babe. Just let me change into my sleep clothes, is that alright?”

“Mhm.” She said nodding her head.

A minute later Liam emerged in a pair of gym shorts instead of his jeans and a plain white shirt instead of his maroon Burberry shirt.

He curled up beside her, wrapping his arms around her and cuddling into her.

“Go to sleep, love.” He whispered. “I love you.”
