When you wake up eyes wide unblinking in the light
When you walk out confused which direction to fight or flight
When you’re caught up in a whirlwind of fleeting desires
When you think it’s your passion but the vision is dire
You reach out for people who know you at heart
To be kept protected all cuddled from harm
But grieve the cowering, then hate the mellowing
You reach out for power all mighty than others
And end up in rubbles all broken and shattered
Unwilled shudders of thundering quakes
Truths colliding; faces that fade
With nothing to reach for, to die for, to conquer
No shame. No will. No life so dear.
I’ve lost myself to unfaltering fear
